PING G400 driver and fairway woods: Mixing the regular model or LST Driver with SFT FW

I went to a demo day today and hit a few clubs. I am sort of looking for a new fairway to may be kick out my 4w. As I have been so please with my G400 driver (regular head, Tour 65s shaft), I thought I should look at the fairway woods as well. To be honest, I wasn't sold on them straightaway at setup, but I liked the results!

However, I noticed that I was getting waaaaay better results with the SFT over the normal head, whereas in my fitting for the driver it was the other way around.

I also preferred the look of the SFT 3w (more rounded, bulging behind than the normal head) at setup. Incidentally, I was testing the SFT at 16* and the normal one cranked up to 15.5* or thereabouts.

So, my question is does anyone play a combination like this? Has anyone here gone with a different driver type to FW, and how has it worked out?

One of my concerns is that I was hitting at a range with really lousy range balls, so I can't fully gauge real-world performance.

I have the SFT 3w and had an LST Driver (now regular G400) and I do not see a problem with it at all. The SFT is a fantastic 3w, fits my gapping better and is easy to launch so idc what is on the bottom of the club. Dont worry so much about being all matchy matchy and enjoy the lower scores.

I certainly found the SFT easier to launch.

I'm not too worried about matching; in fact, should I buy the SFT, this will be pretty much the first time ever the OEM of my driver and FW actually match. I was, however, surprised at the different results I got between driver and FW. Glad to see I am not the only one.
