Golf in Daytona area - Players week

Hey all, going to the players this year and would like to play some courses in the area. However, we are staying in Daytona because my family has a house there. I would like to only drive to the Jacksonville area for the days we are attending the tournament, probably Wednesday and Sunday. Id like to play two rounds Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Any idea of where to play? I am not against driving to the Orlando area but I would rather stay closer if there were nice tracks in the area. I am a Florida resident and Active duty military so often times I can get discounted rates.

 

Some of the courses that I have came across are VIctoria Hills, LPGA International (either track) and I can play any Disney course for 59$.

 

I searched for Daytona but found nothing. Thank you!

Not a lot of great public golf in Daytona. LPGA International is your best bet and it is quite good, particularly the Hills course. I don't mind the Rees Jones course. A little bland, but still a good track and usually in great shape.

 

Victoria Hills is really one of the best designs in all of Central Florida. The conditioning is nothing to brag about, but generally you deal with the conditioning because the design is so primo. Deltona Club is nearby, good design, usually very good greens and is manageable.

 

I've heard good things about Riviera CC, but it's pretty short.

 

You can go south to Mims and play Indian River Reserve (formerly known as Walkabout GC). It's an impressive facility and a PB Dye design. Super hard though. Polarizing course...many love it, many hate it.

Check out Crane Lakes GC in Daytona it's a par 66 but always in good shape. Their proam is around that time of memory serves so the course is always in great shape.
