Anyone played Los Verdes recently? Is it worth a stop?

Going to be leaving LA from the South side and wanting a round before heading to LAX. Given the traffic, Los Verdes seems to be in an ideal position - at least looking at the map. Is it worth playing? I dont hear a lot about it. Another option is Cross Creek - any others of comparable standard and within a couple hours of LAX?

Everyday is that bad if you dont get off really early

 

Very nice community golf course owned by the County with some great ocean views but is one of the busiest golf courses in the country

Nice course with some pretty good views. Be prepared for one of the longest rounds ever. Very slow course.

Played here alot round 2000 and I can attest to it being 6 hour rounds. They play 5somes on the weekend, or at least used to. A large asian population plays here as well, not sure if they hvae a weekend league or what. Nice views and cheap for what you get. I personally would give it a pass because you will be ticked off at the pace of play.

+1000 on getting there early. Even then it's not guarantee to finish in under 5 hrs. Anything after 730am you will be pushing 6 hours min. It's a shame, because it could really be a great muni but the county parks system will not enforce slow play and milks tee times by putting 5 somes out. it's a fun course and conditions are generally above average to very good.

Why not just play in Orange County somewhere? More options there.

Los Verdes is Beautiful. If you want great full golf I'd steer away. If you want to get a bit of play in Try Terrenea. It is par 3 but has some ofthe best conditions and views in the area.

It will be nightmarishly slow. They send out 5somes with no shame. Grab a time in the first hour or so of daylight if you're up to playing early.
