Does the 120 TX come standard with any iron set? Srixon has the X labeled but not TX.

I have the Srixon z785 with the 120x and i can tell if the best setup I've ever have (185yds average 6iron in the fitting i just did at lake Nona). Now testing shafts for wedges, away from DG. I just installed the kbs 610 in the 52/56 not liking then so far, but got the LZ 5.5 in the 60 and it's getting better every round. Strange that is a much weaker shaft than the irons.

FWIW. I put 120X Nippons in my i210s and used same shaft in my wedges (the PW 120x). Works great in wedges for me, especially with touch shots around the greens. I think it is the soft handle smoothing me out.

To me px lz is almost identical to px....didnt see or feel any difference

 

Modus feels different cuz of soft middle section which I guess can fool people....to me it plays as stated....

 

If you have a shaft that works and works good I say stay with it regardless of head your using....your swing will far outweigh any subtle shaft discrepencies......even though they feel different (which can be huge) I havnt played many that were drastically different unless it was way way outside my profile and flex range (i hit a px 7.0 and that is WAY outside my spectrum).....wasnt near that much different than what i use except for way it felt and weight of it

 

I pretty much use same shaft regardless of the heads......the shaft fits the golfer not the head

I usually pic the weight of my iron shafts then go with matching the iron head type for the desired ball flight.

 

For instance, the Mizuno JPX919 HM is a real high launching head for me so I hit them paired with PX 6.0 and got great numbers...I also liked the Modus 120S In these heads and probably would have went with the 103S HSx1 as they seemed just a scosh loose compared to the PX 6.0 with similar ball flights and distances.

 

JPX900 Forged were a stronger than standard lofted head that launched seeming low, so I paired with the PXLZ 6.0 and were perfect for a season and a half.

 

My last set the TMP790 were a mid/high launch head and I wanted to try the Modus line. I went Modus 130S with these and then 120S in the PW and AW and that combo was almost perfect. (Weight was nice but the 130 on a quick release can start straight and go left so easy). I could cooked them right off the left side of the golf course when I was over zealous.

 

Picking up my latest set tomorrow from my builder, the Mizuno JPX919 Forged and Tour combo set with PXLZ 6.0 SSx1. He built the 6iron for me to dial in the lies, swing weights and lengths and after about 300-400 balls and a few rounds, I feel we have it dialed. Can’t wait to get these in the bag for a long golf season here in AZ! Hope I can sleep a little tonight.

I currently game 785s on a 120X shaft.

Just picked up Miura Forged CB’s and was between sticking them on the same shafts or go with PX LZ 6.5 shafts.

 

I’m looking at getting similar feels during my swing in terms of release and what not. Are they similar shafts?

I have not; I love my 120 feels, but I haven't seen a set of 120x pulls online for a good price and I have someone willing to sell me LZ pulls for 125 which I know is a steal

Just wondering if these everyone is comparing all the same type of shaft relative to the tip. Was the Modus 120 taper tip compared to the LZ Taper tip? The Modus comes in parallel as well.

I’ve played both and the 6.0 lz feels like a tighter shaft than the 120x. That’s just me though.  To me it feels like the lower mid section of the 120x is much softer than the lz 6.0

Do not care for the LZ lineup. I am not as accurate with it and it feels kind of strange to me. A bit whippy in fhe middle of the shaft. I love the Project X Rifle 5.5 shafts but the LZ is totally different and didn’t work for me nearly as well as the Modus 120. I get a very tight dispersion with it. I hit a 6 iron about the same distance as the OP, in the 88 mph range in clubhead speed.

I had 120x on my 225s and went to buy LZ 6.0 for my 243s i loved the feel of the head fitter talked me into a 6.5 LZ (7i SS 96mph). Now im wishing i would of went 6.0 i like the 6.5 they work great but sawed of swing gets a little hard and tend to hit fat
