Ah, man, my friend, touch...we’ve been down so many Glory Roads in this thread, and you of all people should know how uncool it is to admit being a Neil Diamond fan.

 

But then, he is Neil FREAKING Diamond!!!

 

My first exposure to him was with his JLS soundtrack, then I backtracked to the HAN live recording with the Crunchy Granola Suite opening, and every other great song from that show. Eventually saw him live twice: first was circa 1977 at the Checkerdome, then again in 2017 in his final tour before the Parkinson’s diagnosis. That second show I count among one of my true blessings in life. Sure he was moving a little more slowly, but his voice was still amazing for his age, and all night long I was trying not to allow my fellow concert goers see how misty eyed I was. Just incredibly awesome!

So every November the historic and famous Grove Park Inn in Asheville ( an almost 100 year old Donald Ross track as a part of it) holds The Nations Gingerbread Championship. I each year I attend to experience such amazing creations. Here is a link featuring this years efforts. Please share these with the ladies in your household, the ones who put up with you rats spending oodles of time on the WRX. It will be fun to share with many family members through the Holidays. I think we ( dad and I) put magazines and or thin books under parts of the track's curve to increase the bank in an effort to lessen the chance of that happening. It was quite a common occurrence now that you mention it.

Just bad A$$ these were. Two of them look kind of like the vehicles on Mockingbird Lane in the MUNSTERS garage. sweet !
