Spider Mini Putter—50% Off at Academy

Last weekend I had a falling out with my putter following a failure to convert several putts in my club’s spring Member-Member tournament. Started cruising the net on Sunday looking for putter options and came across this. I had rolled the Spider Mini on several occasions and really liked it, but wasn’t going to drop $300 on a putter at that point. Academy Sports had them on their website for $149.99, so I pulled the trigger. It was delivered this morning, brand new, as advertised. 50% off qualifies as a deal in my book, so I thought I’d share the info here.

I'll do it for whatever actual costs are - $167 + $17 = $194 +4% paypal fees = $201.76. Call it $202.

Thanks Doc! I've had a couple others offer to help out as well. I realized this morning I'll be travelling to Reno at the end of the workweek and am waiting for a call back from the hotel to see if they will accept the package for me...I'll keep you posted

That's obviously $10 too high. And for further clarity, at checkout it gives me free shipping, but they had the wrong ZIP in there, so the total would be roughly $163+ppfees+shipping to cali or ~$187

Finally got my shipping confirmation.

Gotta say I was pretty pissed about the cancellation of my order...so I called just now to see why it was actually cancelled as it's still on their site as available. Turns out, they place a phone call if your shipping address is different from your billing address, and if you do not pick up (who picks up random numbers these days with all the robo-calls?) and verify, they cancel the order just like that. This was my first time ordering from them and they said they will re-place the order and cover the one day shipping to ensure I get it in Reno while I'm there. Talk about great customer service. Lesson learned: if you are going to get sexy with shipping something somewhere you don't live to try and time it right...pick up the phone and order! Thank you Academy!

Ended up getting mine today actually. What a nice little putter! Really good feel and i like the address, hopefully get a round in with it soon. No headcover included but can’t complain at this price point. Thanks OP!

That's awesome you received! Pretty surprised that there wasn't a headcover as when they got the stock in from Taylormade I'm sure they were with them. Good deal to those who bougth them and good luck!

Mine didn’t have a headcover either, which is no big deal—I always use an aftermarket putter cover anyway.

Mine showed up at 35" instead of 34" and a bunch of goo on the shaft (clearly a hastily removed sticker). Grip and head still in plastic, so all is well on the important parts.

All in all, great deal.

Any options for a mini mallet headcover besides the stock option? Doesn’t seem to be much out there.

I have a regular mallet cover from my club that fits perfectly (made by AM&E). Any regular mallet cover should do OK with it, I would think.

Mine showed up with bubble wrap around the bag the putter was in. Took me 20 minutes to get the bubble wrap off. Lol. But, mine did come with a headcover. Initial thoughts are I absolutely love the size of the head.
