Were there some areas roped off when you played? They still had a some and I played two months later than you - so was thinking there might have been even more.

Actually there weren’t any beyond a couple of small construction projects well out of play, and one green was half roped off on the dunes course I think. Otherwise the course was completely open, and there were no limits at all on Himalayas. I played with a member who mentioned that they were going to be doing a lot of work in the spring; maybe I got in just before that work and you just caught the tail end?

 

Royal St. Georges on the other hand had matts in use on 4 and 14 and a couple roped-off areas on some of the other holes. I never got down to Deal, but North Foreland was the pleasant surprise of my trip in Broadstairs.
