We need more bragging after golf.

I've played 20-25 rounds since the start of August, mostly 9 holes, often on my own. I have never once played a bad round - I enjoyed every round and learnt from every round. I am not a materialistic or shallow person, nor competitive not even with myself these days (something I learned is vital in life after years hitting a wall in the sport of powerlifting). So I go out and try to improve, I realise my physical state can vary day on day - I just try my best mentally and if I do stay mentally solid I'm pretty happy whatever I shoot - sometimes very happy.

 

And each round I try to learn something new (or multiple new stuff) about the course, about a certain hole and re-assess strategy for each shot and hole I play - try to learn the greens more. I'm all about learning more about golf, myself and life. Some people don't respect themselves enough to stay upbeat, they drag themselves and everyone down - we just need to not take it personally I think.

 

Great post - reminds me that people do exist like me! Bragging is good I want to hear how far you are hitting it - if you are gaining distance, making more birdies - I like to hear about success and positive vibes - some people are jealous by that - I'm not! I'm not in competition with you or anyone else!

How about this...

 

I managed to make a 4-putt for double bogey today on 15. Pretty much ruined my round. Still managed to shoot a personal best 69(32-37) with 7 birdies.

Nice. What was the par and yardage?

 

Forgive me but how exactly did you 4-putt? Did you start 100 foot from the hole on the fringe / off the green with a massive sloped breaking putt? - in which case 3-putting would have been realistic anyways. But maybe you 4-putted from 20 feet. Was the hole cut in a stupid place making even short putts very hard to make? What do you usually shoot on an average day?

Play 6000 yard par 72.

Avg 75-77 on those tees. Best previous was 72 on that tee.

I had a 30 foot uphill putt to a clown pin placement. Pin set 3 feet over a ridge. Missed the first putt 6 feet short because if I missed the ball goes off the green. Second putt just trickles by and is 4 feet away by the time it stops. Lip out the third...

 

My partner three putted from 8 feet for bogie...

[Shipwreck]

Shot 69 (-1 6200 yards) in our club round yesterday. Could have been a career low 67 but made 2 careless bogeys. It was exciting playing golf like I know I can. Hope this isn’t some flash in the pan, but won’t be surprised if that’s the case.

Doing it the first time is the hardest obstacle...once you've been there a few times, it makes it easier to do.
