Game Improvement Clubs

Clubs for the High Handicapper

I am returning to the game since I was a kid. I was looking at Golfsmith about getting some clubs of my own. They measured me and said I need to get my clubs extended 1". My questions is I dont want to spend alot of money right now. Here are the sets I am looking at:

Nickent Genex 3DX Hybrid Set
Hippo Golf ITX 2
Nike NDS Irons
TaylorMade R540XD
Wilson Fat Shaft IV

All are at $300. Which one is better?

i haven't tried any of them except for the nds. the nds are awesome. easy to hit. i would also suggest the adams a1 hybrid. i heard they are suppose to be sweet! worth taking a look. i beleive the adams are about 200 for steel shaft if you look around!

I would also suggest the NDS. I tried them out and they were really easy to hit. Good clubs in my opinion, plus you can get them really cheap.

I just left Golfsmith. I looked at the Lynx Predators. What about those?

Avoid the Fat Shaft, they are a disaster waiting to happen.

i've read that the 540xds are more for mid-handicappers, so you may want to stay away from those.

Are you going to buy them at Golfsmith?...If not ebay the Adams Idea A1 hybrid set, its perfect for you....or the Nike NDS. Lynx...I dont know. Always thought it was cheap company.

The two best at my store were the Adams, Nickent in that order.......Wilson too! :tongue: :help:

Titleist 804-OS...extremely easy to hit wih a nice high trajectory !!

I looked at a new "easy to hit" set of irons earlier in the year. Wasn't happy with my Adams Tight Lies. I tried out the TM RAC OS, Callaway Big Bertha 04's, Callaway Fusions, Callaway X18's, and the Cleveland TA6's. I highly recommend the trying the TA6's if you're looking for a reasonably prices set of irons. Yeah, they're considered "Game Improvement" irons, but they're very easy to hit and get used to. They won't provide a lot of feedback, like a set of TA2's, but I won't be getting rid of my TA6's any time soon.

go with tm i would not suggest nike cheap shafts and crap for heads

As I was looking around some more, Roger Dunn has Pinsetters that I hit. I hit them pretty well. They are 4 thru gap, plus a free sand wedge for $400. They are extended by 1". Anyone know about these?

my son plays to a 5 hdcp, he picked up a set of mizuno mx-11 at a "play it again" sports store for $139 in perfect condition. he hits these irons very well. they are "hollow technology" funny hollow technology is coming back.
