MB 001 vs MP20 MB

Anybody hit both? I posted in another thread re offset and got some photos. Don't think the MC501 are doable for me - TONS of offset. Looking to compare these two irons to game for the season. I'm committed to playing blades the full year as an experiment.

 

Would like to compare:

Turf interaction

"Forgiveness"

Flight/Spin

 

No need to get into the feel department - I've owned/hit both and they both have their merits. Shafts will be Tour Issue X100 in both.

For me:

Turf Interaction: MB-001 was crisper through the turf, which gives me confidence in certain fairway conditions. A little bit more work to avoid flyers from the rough, however.

Forgiveness: They were the same for me.

Flight/Spin: MB-001 slightly lower and lower spinning than the MP-20.

 

Both very good, but I kept my Miuras.

Of the two, MP20's. I didn't like the upright boxy design nature of the MB-001 at address. Turf interaction is about the same but depends on swing. Due to the boxy nature of the head, IMO forgiveness may be a bit more with MB-001. Flight/Spin depends on the persons mechanics. Amazing how MP20's have copper similar to my 620MB's. Seems copper is being used by more and more OEM's.

The 20s feel fantastic. I’m enamoured with the MB001 as well for some reason.

Hmmm ... I did not realize that the 620 MBs have a copper layer as well. Don't recall seeing any mention of it ... perhaps I missed it.

Sorry for the errant brain far*. My Titleist 620MB's are forged from 1025 Carbon block. It's my 620CB 3-4 iron that have tungsten in heal and toe.
