What is the key to get public access to the Dunes Club?

Most MB courses should know their summer aeration schedule now or soon. March 15-May 15 and Oct to mid Nov are the peak golf package season in MB. The summer is not as busy, because it's hotter and golfers can play at home. Odds are 95+% that you can replay a course or a sister course on the same day for a replay rate of around half price. If you are hot or tired, you can replay 9 holes or not at all. So, you really don't have to book 36 holes in the summer in MB. You might risk not getting a replay at The Dunes or Cal, if there is an outing or big group that day you are there.

The Dunes does have replays, if space is available and it will be about half price. If the Tour was going to MB, they would pick The Dunes first. To play The Dunes, you must book with a MB Golf Packager that has access. I listed in post #15.

The Ocean Ridge Big Cat courses used to be good, but they are poorly maintained now.

If you need a premium hotel, look at Island Vista or North Beach Plantation. They are expensive as are many places on the Beach in the summer.

I like Ocean Reef. Any in the 70th Ave North area are good. Do not stay downtown, IE 20th to 1st and don't stay on South Ocean Blvd.

The 70th Ave North area is 5 minutes to The Dunes, 15 Minutes to Barefoot, 10 to Grande Dunes, about 45-60 min to Caledonia, but it's only 1 day.

 

If you drive to MB from the North, it's best to not play a south course on the last day, to reduce your drive, or the reverse if you live in the south.

We have refined the dates of our trip and have narrowed it down. Playing Dunes Club, Caledonia and True Blue the first 3 rounds. For our Saturday we have narrowed it down to these options, would love to hear any votes on which two we should play:

King's NorthTidewaterBarefoot FazioGrand DunesGlen Dornoch

Would King's North and Tidewater in the same day just be impossible on a Saturday in June?

My vote would be Tidewater.  It's my favorite course down there and best value.

We are talking about Thistle now too as it looks like an amazing course. Just trying to figure out if we need to stay on the north end of MB that day or if we would have time to do King's North as they has quickly become one of my most desired courses to play.

On a Saturday in June, you have plenty of daylight for 36 holes if you start early.

Kings North to Tidewater is about 45 minutes, maybe more during beach season.

There are too many must plays to play them all in 4 days.

 

If you replay another Barefoot course after BF Fazio, you will get a replay rate of about half price and if too tired you are not committed to play/pay.

Barefoot to Tidewater, BF to KN or TW to Thistle are about a 15-20 minute drives.

Thank you Art. I found out late yesterday that between 6/2 - 6/15 Dunes Club is aerating and it is member only play during that time. So we will do King's North on the front end and have a day where we stay North and probably play Tidewater and Thistle. Thank you very much for all the advice you have given us, really looking forward to some great courses this June.
