4 year old junior golfer

So I bought my son the 3-5 year old set for kids under 3'3. The clubs are still a few inches too long. I don't really want to cut down the clubs because eventually he will be able to use them, but at the same time I can't find anything shorter that isn't plastic. And to top it all of, he's left handed so that makes everything ten times harder lol.

Should I bite the bullet and cut down his current clubs? Could I pay someone to reshaft a couple clubs to use until he can use the current clubs? He's just starting lessons and we'll be going out several times a week when the weather permits, so I want him practicing with something that promotes proper technique.

Go out to a decent size golf store that carry’s clubs for kids like the pga superstore and buy a few single clubs that fit. there around $20 a club. All you need is a few irons and a putter at age. Then just use the bigger clubs when they get taller.

No need to over think clubs for a 4 year old.

If you don’t have store nearby go to the us kids site and order a few clubs. If a kid is too short for the smallest size still the you best bet is to just buy a toy set and a putter. The best thing you can do is focus on putting at that age. Have him putt out your ball on the green and play mini golf with them.

He is 4, let him choke down and just have fun. If they are to big stick with the plastic ones or just get him a putter as someone already stated. At 4 years old you really should not even be thinking about reshafting or cutting down clubs.

Goto a Goodwill store and find an old putter for $5. Cut that down to whatever you need it to be. Have him learn to putt first. Plenty of time to learn how to hit a draw or fade on command later.

My now 5 year old played with a 3 club set I bought from eBay for $20 from the time he could walk until he was 4.

Once he was tall enough, we started with the USKG equipment and have been very happy with that.

He’s a lefty, so finding the original set he started with was a slight challenge.

A wood, iron and putter are more than enough to get rolling. Even playing in tournaments now, he uses 2 woods, 3 irons and a putter and it’s probably too many clubs.

Thanks the US kids club is what I was looking for. I was just looking at amazon and all their really short clubs were plastic and had bad reviews for breaking easily. That club looks perfect, thanks for your input guys
