I posted in another thread that I was recently at a speaking event with coaches from Arizona and ASU (men’s and women’s). They said mostly the same thing except that they all said they didn’t care to hear from instructors, coaches, parents, etc. unless they already had a pre-existing relationship, for the reason the UCLA coach mentioned (i.e. getting burned). It also reminded me how much attention they paid to how kids treated their parents and specifically their mothers.

Every coach is different You will go nuts trying to figure out to be the perfect recruit for a certain coach or school. If you talk to more then one you find out everyone has a different criteria you just have to find one that things just click.

I think even if you were the number 1 junior out there some crazy coach would turn you down for some reason.

Bottom line is you need to cast a wide net and work at it. That is the one common theme I hear every coach mention.

if you can afford it camps are a great place to start if not go play tournaments that on the schools home courses and do well you might get noticed since you can almost guarantee they are there watching.
