Scotty Cameron Special Select vs Studio Stainless

I have not see any comparisons online and I am wondering what people's thoughts are on the newly released Special Select line vs the Studio Stainless line.

 

Tell me your thoughts or if you have both tell me the pros and cons about each line.

I had a few studio stainless NP2s and I loved them. They have a finer facemilling and a more pronounced tri-sole. The special select seems to have a more refined head shape with a thinner topline which is nice. I typically prefer more classic scottys though so I’d go with a studio stainless but that’s just me!

I definitely noticed the thinner top-line in my Special Select, even over 2018's Select (the one with the insert).

I have both and the new special Select feels firmer the older models. Also the new one is a slightly thinner in places.

So how do you feel about both putters? Which one do you like better for feel, putt better with lag control , etc.?

 

My aim is to get a studio stainless NP2 in 350g, if i can find one, or a 340g otherwise...

Honestly, I think the older models are better in the feel department. I have a 2011 Select with sole weights, but am familiar with the studio style and it weights out based on factory length. Find one in your preferred weight and you will be very happy with it. I say the new models have the closest feel to a 009M model but that just isn’t my taste. It’s firmer and has an audible ting to it that the older models didn’t. Swing weight being equal between new and old I doubt you would notice a performance difference if that helps.

350g Studio Stainless/Studio Select (2008) definitely FEEL better, but will the enhanced MOI of the Special Select be a better gamer?
