2006 equipment buzz. What is going to be hot?

More buzz with some than others...
I can feel the buzz from here for Titleist. The new 695cb's and the 695mb's as well as the 905R 460cc head. Add in a f3-05 3 wood some vokey wedges as well a sweet Cameron putter and what do you have? A nice bag. Mostly new stuff and from the looks of it mostly home runs for a better player that can hit the smaller iron heads. Even the 735cm's look good.

The new line up for Titleist looks better than ever. Many years of irons that haven’t impressed and drivers that seem ok but never the best of the bunch, and now we see some great clubs!!! The 695cb pictures in the tour forum by Joe Kwok look great. No offset and great looking heads. The 905R has a great look to it. Pear shaped head with a real classy look.

Taylor Made has the new drivers out (425cc R7, and the 460cc R7) but more of the same maybe. I am sure they will be good as usual. Nike has nothing but the SQ, and that seems to be getting a mixed reviews. Ping has a new line up and the buzz isn’t as big as I expected. Cleveland has some great irons CG1 and 2 and always the premium wedges. Callaway? Well they have the same stuff as last year within reason, Hogan??? Are they still here? Who else. Macgregor gets zero buzz as well as Adams, Wilson, and many others.

The buzz seems to be coming from the Titleist camp for once. What do you think?

I would agree. Titleist stuff looks great for next season. A lot of it is still prototype but even the stuff we know is coming out, 905R, 695, 585H, looks great.

I think the Ping range is very good for next year. The driver stays pretty much the same but the G5 hybrid and fairway woods are sweet. Some typically good irons and a nice new finish on the Tour wedge caps of a good range.

Callaway looks good too. New X-460 driver and X-Tour fairways woods look good, especially for the price. Additionally new Big Bertha irons and a lot of exciting new putters should be good additions. They also have a lot of new accessories which, although less relevant, is good to see.

2006 seems to be a hot year for golf equipment. Plenty to get your attention.

I was really surprised when I got the Christmas catalog from Golf Galaxy and there are exactly ZERO as in none drivers from TM listed. What is the world coming too when the company that seemingly produces new product lines every other month has no new drivers out despite the fact that everyone else seems to have them available? That being said I agree that there are a lot of fascinating new products out or on the horizen.

I think that you want the buzz to be from Titleist.

Nothing wrong with that but it seems you are trying to generate buzz for them. They have lacked buzz since the 983 3 years ago. I guess it's your annual hope for something from them besides the 735 irons.

Nike has the SQ, but you forgot about the SS Tour and OS and I think, the new hybrid line.

The Tour gives the buzz. Let's see what Ernie does with the 905R in Hawaii that will have everyone salivating for one like the 983.

For me, it's the Bridgstone J33 Cavity back irons. Very clean look, great feel, consistent trajectory. I feel Bridgestone will have a great year with these along with the B330-S ball.

Agree, those are beautiful sticks. In fact, *everything* in Bridgestone's line is great - I am positively smitten with my J33R 460 driver, and their fairway woods are top-notch as well. I don't play the hybrids, but they are anti-left as anything out there, so the next time I hook my Rescue Dual off the planet I may go out and pick one up.

I am going to have to look at the new Bridgestone J33 cb irons also. Still a lot of news from Titleist.

I personally think that it is between Bridgestone and Titleist.

Titleist has a strong lineup coming, if it is all released. I am looking forward to the driving iron(503i?) and the new 3 wood. It reminds me of the PT line, which is a good thing for me.

Bridgestone has the J33 Cavity backs and the 460 J33r driver that is getting rave reviews. I am taking a close look at the J33Cb as my next set of irons!!!!

Either way it is going to be a great spring and summer for golfers!!!

MacGregor has a NVG2 Tour model coming out in the drivers which looks awesome and has a normal sound. I think that is going to be a great club, but the price tag of $449 wont be so it probably will not sell.

If the 905R has a $299 price tag we would sell a ton of them, but i guess that is probably the end of the $299 price range. The titleist irons will prob collect dust like the 690 series with their $899 price. The 735s have done really well so far.

I still think the club of the year is the Mizuno MP60.

Srixon is getting Furyk this year. Not to mension Allenby just won the Austrailian Open. Tim Clark broke $2 million. There is a bunch of things going on with that company. I havent heard much about the new ball but the I-506's are in Petrovic's bag now, they will soon be in Furyk's bag, the wedges are going into some bags on tour. I think within the next year Srixon will be making a major mark on the American market.

Those are my people. ha, REPRESENT!

Im going to be honest though, the R7 425, is going in my bag sometime in the next few months, as are a Rescue dual TP, and a Y-Cutter. So I guess Im not such a Srixon ho anymore. But they do make the best ball out there.
