Graphite shaft and five way bag tops

Hello All,

I have two bags depending on if I’m carrying or riding/push carting.

 

When I walk it’s a Ping 5 way hoofer, and I recently picked up some new irons w/Steelfiber shafts. This is my first set of irons with graphite shafts and just wondering if I need to worry about the wear on the shafts with the 5 way when I’m carrying?

I had a SM 2.5 where the plastic starting to come thru at one of the areas the separators connected to the bag. left some nasty little marks on my steelfibers until I realized what was going on.

I have had Recoil shafts for the last year and a half, and haven't noticed any wear. Plus, if you are like most guys here, you won't have those clubs long enough to rub a mark on them.

No need to worry. In fact, I'd be more concerned about a 14 way top causing more wear. The fewer the dividers, the more the clubs nestle together so they can't bang against each other (or other shafts).

Opposite experience here. My recoils are definitely showing some wear from my bag. It’s cosmetic, but if you’re concerned about maintaining appearance the solution is a wrap of transparent packing tape where the shafts and bag meet.
