Hybrid or 5 Wood? Graphite or Steel? Problem solved!

Like many of you, I've yearned to answer life's most important questions. And while I've come to understand women, the meaning of life, and string theory, the riddle of the 5 wood / hybrid has proven a difficult puzzle to solve... until now.

The Titleist TS2 17* hybrid looks like an old school 5 wood. Classic lines, black gloss, etc. But what about the shaft? Old school 5 woods have steel shafts. Enter the KBS hybrid steel, and bingo! we've entered the future by way of the past.

I tipped the shaft 1.75" so it plays like a hard step and a half. Overall club length 39.5". I'm long and straight! The club also plays long and straight!

I highly recommend this combo. I play c taper s+ in my irons, and carry my driver 450 yards most times.

I've attached a few pictures. One is a comparison to a TS3 3 wood.

If you would have made up a TXX3 flex for the C tapers it would have come across more as a joke, but I thought typo initially as well. 250 seems about right.

 

Anyway, I have an oversized, 5 wood looking 17 degree hybrid as well.
