Skytrak ve mevo plus

Hi

building a new indoor simulator

can you tell me your opinions of skytrak vs mevo plus?

for righty vs lefty Without moving the unit would that be enough of a reason for the mevo?

Firstly need to consider whether you have the space for enough ball flight for the mevo +, the Skytrak only needs to see a tiny flight of the ball by comparison.

if indoor only hard to not lean skytrak. Sure the R/L issue is annoying but space/accuracy needs far outweights convenience here. If you can't get reliable reads from any doppler based system it won't be much fun for you. Lots of folks have done pretty well with the Mevo+ indoors in short mode but there has been a lot of trial/error if you read the threads here and on other more simulator based forums. 

 

For me the mevo+ purchase was because the sim use is secondary compared to using it outdoors for LM data and working on game.

Mevo+ needs at least 8' from the launch monitor to the tee and 8-10' from the tee to screen/net for short indoor mode. Some of the sim forum guys have reported getting equivalent numbers with 7' to the tee, but either way you're looking for at least 15', not including the dead space behind the impact surface to absorb the ball (usually a couple feet).

 

Basically, if you don't have 18' or more length in the room, definitely go with Skytrak.

 

If you do have the room, IMO the Mevo+ is the winner. Comes with sim software out of the box (even if it's a dumbed down version of e6), no annual fees, works incredibly well outside at the range, has some measured club data, no shot delay, no L/R switching...
