Country Club in North Tampa Area

We are moving from Wichita Kansas to the northern part of Tampa.  I will work in Trinity and we are looking at housing in a 20 minutes radius of Trinity.  Which of the country clubs would you recommend?  We will not know anyone and we have three kids and my wife does play some golf as well.  Suggestions/thoughts?

Closest decent option would probably be Cypress Run. Really close to Trinity. I'm at East Lake Woodlands which is another 10-15 minutes down the road.

Thank you!  Do you know anything about Wentworth?  We are looking at a house there and Innisbrook.  I will look up Cypress Run and see the housing options around there.  Thank you. 

 

I have heard good things about East Lake Woodlands as well.  Have you liked the golf course and the community?

I would recommend looking at Fox Hollow before joining a private club.  It’s a big golf course that has wider playing corridors then the other course in that area.  Downside, it gets very busy in season, but their practice area is superior to the other local private courses.  Try them all out, see what you like.

Wentworth for housing might be fine but their course looks like a dump. Granted I have never played it though. Never heard of anyone being a member there so that can't be good. Fox Hollow is always super slow every time I have played it. Not private (maybe semi-private?) which leads to longer rounds.

Courses are great, North is the better of the two. Housing in the development is going as soon as it hits the market right now. Home prices are skyrocketing right now.

We have struggled to find a house fast enough, I am living in an apartment while we wait to find a house.  We are still targeting Innisbrook but time will tell.  We ended up passing on the house in Wentworth because the golf course looks like a muni.  Pretty disappointing since the houses in there are quite nice.  But at least I am here now so we can move fast on a house when we find one.

 Definitely don’t sit on a good house if you see one.  A lot of demand out there. We just sold our house north of Tampa, on the market 48 hours, 31 tours, 23 offers, 17 over asking. Granted the house was pretty updated but we are seeing homes move very quickly if its a good neighborhood with strong schools.

Scottc25, what is your review of East Lake Woodlands?  Would you recommend it for a family and my wife who is learning how to play?  We are members at a club now and must say w are spoiled withe fast pace of play and very good course conditions.
