Stand bag and Costco Caddytek push cart

I just bought the Costco Caddytek 3 wheel CaddyLite One swivel v.8 and am looking for a stand bag that has 14 individual full divider slots and sits well on both driving carts and push carts(specifically the above Caddytek). My top choice is the Sun Mountain 4.5 LS 14 way stand bag. I've read the many reviews and find some mixed comments but none for this specific push cart. As for the driving cart, I saw one YouTube review that showed the 4.5 LS moving all over the place and the strap from the cart crushing in the bag because it was so soft.

 

I will almost always be using the push cart or a driving cart but do want a stand bag for the range and just in case I do carry. I'm open to other suggestions for this combo.

Hoofer 14 would probably be best.  I have a Caddytek and the Ping bags work best because of the hoof base and no kickstand.

I'll check it out. It gets great reviews but it seems like there is a general feeling that the club shafts/grips get tangled of bound up quite a bit. How is it in a power cart? The SM 4.5 seemed soft where the cart strap went around it and caved in the bag.

@rlb4 it's true club tangle can be a very small issue with Ping stand bags.  The reason being they have a solid base and the way the stand is deployed pushes the grips of the clubs closest to the stand towards the middle part of the bag (if this makes sense).  Anyway, if you're looking for push cart or golf cart use, it's not an issue at all.  If it sits well on the caddytek, then I think it would be a great bag.

Thanks. I'll definitely take another look at it. I also thought I read that it actually doesn't have full length dividers and that was part of the reason for the tangling.

The dividers do stop before the very bottom of the bag...yes.  This is done because the grips have to move when the stand is deployed.

I agree that club tangle should not be an issue on a pushcart. The reason the clubs get tangled at the bottom of Ping bags is because of the way it sits with the legs popped out and the hoof flat on the ground.

Might want to check out the Sun Mountain C130S.  I have had 2 of them, and they work well on my ClicGear push cart.  I do use the ClicGear Bag Cozy and it doesn't move around at all.

I looked at that as well. It was nice. Similar to the 4.5 LS 14 way but a little bulkier.

I just purchased the Mizuno Tour Stand bag which has a special bottom to accommodate push carts but I can't recommend the 14 way as the top and inside was poorly designed IMO. Their 6 way is much better in this regards but still lacks the pocket and features of some of the better bags out there. I had SM 4.5LS and on a golf cart it was rubbish and moved all over the place so I would not personally recommend that one either.

 

You may want to check out the hybrid stand bags that are out there such as the Titleist Hybrid 14, Bag Boy Golf Chiller Hybrid or any others like these. I have never had the Bag Boy but I did have a previous version of the Titleist bag and it was great about moving from stand, to golf cart to push cart.

I have a Sun Mountain 4.5LS and just bought a Costco Caddytek EZ Fold (a year or two old).  The only complaint that I have so far is that the cart has cutouts for the stand legs, but the Sun Mountain legs are about a quarter of an inch too far apart to fit properly.  The bag still sits on the push cart fine and is nice and stable after strapping it in, it's just a little annoying that it doesn't fit snugly in the exact right spot.  I'll post some pictures when I get home later today.

 

FWIW, I have played a handful of rounds riding and have not experienced any bag sagging/movement when strapped into a regular cart.

Pics would be great. Especially where the bottom foot fits into the space on the cart and also on the top where the stand arms fit between the notches on the cart. I am almost certain that I want the Sun Mountain 4.5 LS 14-way. I just used the Caddytek cart with my old Callaway bag and it didn't fit perfectly on the bottom or top but it was very stable which is all that really matters. The cart was awesome. Lots of storage. Very maneuverable with the swivel front wheel. Easy to lock the swiveloor brake.

Here are the pics.  First one is showing how the stand doesn't fit well at the top.  I think I might design and 3D print a new arm that is just a tad wider.  Second pic is showing the bottom, looking from above, and the last pic is showing the bottom looking from underneath.  It's kind of hard to get good views of how the bottom works.  It's definitely not perfect, but as you said, once it is strapped it is rock solid.  

 

Keep in mind that mine is a year or two old, before the swivel front wheel.  There is a chance that the mating geometry changed but I would say it is likely that it has not.

Thanks. Hmm. My cart is definitely different. More elongated so the bag is laying more horizontal. Also, different bottom and top arms. See pics. I think I will be ok on the bottom but the top arms depends on how wide they are. Can you measure the distance between the 2 screws where your bag is trying to fit in between the arms?

Oh, yeah that is very different. The bottom looks like it will definitely accommodate it better. I measure 6-3/16" from inner to inner of the arms. My bag legs are more like 6-1/2”

Interesting that they made that gap smaller instead of larger.  It might actually make the bag sit better though.  Mine is so close to fitting that it kind of makes one side want to go in and  the bag ends up sitting slightly cocked.  Having the smaller gap would make the bag just sit completely outside of the cutouts, thus sitting more even.

Update, mostly just showing off 😁  I designed and 3D printed updated arms that allow my bag to sit flush.  The bottom sits much better/more even now as well.

I need this. My Titleist stand bag doesn't fit.  If would ever entertain the idea of printing more and selling please let me know!
