The date of manufacture was April 1, 1995, if that helps.

I checked it as an O, but still no luck. Possibly counterfeit?

Have this Ping Ally sn putter which recently had a chunk taken out of it when I put my pencil bag down, it even had it's head cover on it.

Is it some kind of fake......would someone be able to confirm it its real? I wouldn't have expected this to happen.

Information for old clubs is flawed.  That number was used 13 times by Ping.  You need to call Ping directly.  FWIW, they are old Pings and they are what they are.
