Installing steelfiber shafts

I believe the shafts are prepped for you at purchase but not sure.  I just go lightly on the tips just like i've done with driver and 3 wood shafts.  It might not matter but I would definitely suggest not making them a specific swingweight that you have always played.  If you are coming from a really heavy shaft to lets say a i95 or i110 I would hit them first and add some lead tape until you find a match and then swingweight the clubs. sometimes a little bit of weight will do the trick and feel great.

Just pulled the steel shafts from my TM P770 irons and looking for any advice on regards to the steelfibers as I hear these can be quite a tease if not treated with care.

I have installed hundreds of sets of Aerotech, with no issues. What issues are you referring to?

The outer steel sheath will come off if you sand the tip too much.  Just remove the clear coat as necessary and don't cut into the outer shaft skin if possible.

The tips on the pulled shafts I have look to be in good condition but the original glue has gone several inches up the middle of the shaft so having difficulty drilling all glue out, hence trapped air stopping the process.

Or maybe I am just doing the whole process incorrectly.

I've no idea what heads the shafts came out of, but to my untrained eye the tips looked in good condition, hence no chipping of the outer layer and no loose strands of graphite, albeit pretty much ready to be installed.

Coming from KBS Tour 120S to steelfiber fc115 so weight shouldn't be issue. This said I have mixed swingweight bag with heavy px 7.0 4 iron then lighter counter balanced C tapers 120 s hs×2  in 5/pw and another 7.0 for gap and a really soft nippon 115s in the lob wedge. I go with whatever feels right and more importantly what works for me rather focus on a particular flex/weight.

I sometimes use a straightened out metal coat-hanger and tap out the little bit that the drill won't reach. The taper usually begins in that area and it will tap out easily.

There are 47 inch long 3/32 bits for drilling out the bore of a shaft.

I didn't realize you bought unknown/used shafts. When it comes to Steelfiber, VERY FEW PEOPLE can pull them correctly and not damage them.

Glad it worked out..

How did they feel as to weighting?  Did you add lead tape or tip weights?  What was the final SW relative to your previous set?

I have a set I have been wanting to put in some heads and have been wondering about weighting.
