Anyone still gaming a Cleveland Halo Hybrid from 2005?

Anyone still gaming an original Cleveland Halo Hybrid from 2005?  Has anyone found anything similar to it that is modern?

I sold my 19°, 22° and 25° Halos to a guy at my club about 10 years ago and he is still very happy with them. I replaced them with 18°, 20° and 23° Cleveland Launcher DST hybrids and I still love these clubs.

Great hybrid.  Sold mine and replaced it with Cleveland Launcher also.

Still using the 3 & 4 hybrids. Since the lofts are weak compared with today’s clubs, they are replacing 4 & 5 irons. The 4 hybrid is great out of the rough.

How is the launcher in comparison to the halo?

Another one of those clubs that I am sorry I sold.  I hit them well.

Both great. I think the shaft in the Launcher is slightly better. But if I put a good swing on either club the result would be very similar if not identical.

Nope

Not his as he lives out of state.  But like all old farts.. Hits this damn thing 175 on a rope all day.

Yup. Still have my 19* Halo.

 

Very dependable club, see no reason to replace it.

I have the Halo 3i (22*) and 4i (25*) that I purchased many years ago.  Picked up a 5i (28*) a couple of years ago.  The higher loft on the 5i seems to make it a little harder for me to hit as consistently.

 

I hit the new Callaway Apex hybrids at a demo outing recently.  I was also able to hit the comparable lofts against my Halos there.  I thought the Apex's had a little lower ball flight but overall distance was relatively the same.  I know I've hit the 3i instead of the 4i (even if it was the right club for the distance) if the shot was into the wind because I know the Halos can balloon a bit in the wind.  However, over the course of time I feel like the positives of the higher ball flight outweighs the negatives.  I recently saw a video 2nd Swing did comparing the Callaway GBB Hawkeye driver to the new Epic Speed.  The distances were surprisingly comparable but big differences were in  forgiveness and dispersion.  I didn't see that so much in my hybrid comparison at the demo day.

 

Overall, I saw no reason to get rid of the Halos and planning to blend them in with my new irons when they arrive.  As someone else noted, the lofts/numbers are not exact matches with current iron sets.

I'm still using the 2005 Halo 22º and 25º.  I bought a new Halo (2022) 3i, and hate it. It lives in my garage.
