I watched Jon Engler at 1st stage, he is a hell of a player. He is healthy now and I think he will have a good season. Alex Cejka is solid as well. I also hope Bill Haas does well since he is a SC native.

Cejka would be a great player if he could putt consistantly.....

My vote is for Ian Leggatt. Two years of wrist surgies behind him and a former winner he is due and I have to cheer on the Canadians anyways!! :)

Jeff Overton, Nick Watney, and John Holmes are gonna be guys you will hear alot about real soon. Like they say, These Guys Are Good

I know that most of the time, medalists don't do worth a crap when the season starts, but I think John B. Holmes is the real deal. Good demeanor, kind of a smart A with the press (I liked the "you can't shoot 23 under and not have good touch" comment) and hits it a mile. We'll see.

 

Also, he single handedly carried the UK team on his back this past year. Dude's a player.

IMO, Frank Lickliter II will win in 2006. He's a PGA Tour veteran with a couple of wins and is a very solid ball striker. In his post round interview he said he didn't have his game this week but was able to patch together the scores needed to make it. I like his game and think he will rebound in 2006.

The $$$$ breakdown is very interesting. 1st gets $50,000 and T26 gets $25,000. In a normal professional event, the disparity between 1st and T26 would be much greater. That said, I guess these guys were playing for position vs. money. The higher you finish, the bigger the endorsement dollars and the greater the chance you get in the West Coast tournaments.

Hunter Mahan had loads of talent. Also look out for Bubba Dickerson, former U.S. Amateur winner]

i think Nick Thompson , Jeff Overton, and John Holmes are all gonna be top 50 players in the world by the end of the season.

Nick is a good player...have known him since he was a young kid...plays out of my home course and we play together evey now and then when hes around. I think hes got a shot he hits it long and hits it pretty straight. Not the most traditional swing but very consistent and very repeatable. He putts pretty well as well. Seems to be pretty mentally tough as well...just not sure how hes gonna hold up but from talking to him hes treating this as just another day of golf which is an attitude i think will get him far. I think hes got a chance to make some really good money this yr.
