Chambers Bay got me blue with the bad breaks!

Awesome round at the Bay. Last time I played was 2008 when the greens were fescue and last time on property was for the last round of the Amateur in '10. This course has some wide open holes but can eat your lunch if you're off. Check the plugged lies and near venture into #18 hell bunker.. saved by a blade of grass. Chipped out sideways and my approach caught and hung up in a damn sprinkler head long of the green where it should have worked right back to the flag!. I drove the green and made birdie on 12, which makes up for everything. What a course!

I played here last year and I got cramp from climbing up and down the bunker. It was my first year playing golf too but I do enjoy the scenery though. How is the green looking? It was not in a good shape last time I played there.

The greens were "fine".  I think they were aerated not long ago; there were some visible sod line marks.  There were also some bumpy areas where perhaps the grass hadn't grown into the aeration yet.  Last time I played the course was on fescue in 2008 and it is much better now than the original greens.  The greens are in a condition that they shouldn't take away your enjoyment of playing the course.
