What happened to Victor Dubuisson?

Is victor dubuisson back in the Alps. Mountains? I haven't seen him on the leaderboard since the duel in the desert with Jason Day. Sacre bleu, ou est le français?

He had his moment. He defeated Bubba Watson for all of France. Now, with his duty to this plane fulfilled, he's moved on. Possibly into another dimension, where he has committed such heinous crimes, that Bubba Watson must defeat him for all of 'Murica.

Good question. Rank is 171. He needs to crank it up soon if he wants to make 2018 Ryder Cup team - which will be held near Paris.

Dude has a nasty temper. Lots of video around of his tantrums, but my favorite is from a couple of years ago at the European Masters when his putting got away from him and he let out this really guttural scream and you wondered if he might actually hurt himself.

 

Don't know what has happened to his game, but he doesn't seem to have the head for high level golf.

I was wondering about this guy as well. I was a volunteer caddy at a Pro/Am round in Dubai in 2013. It was the week after he won the Turkish Airlines Open (I believe Tiger finished top 5 in that tournament). He was the pro in our group. Everyone was congratulating him on his victory the previous week. He was very polite to everyone but was also very quiet. I've never heard of him having a temper, as mentioned above. Not saying he doesn't, just didn't seem like the type to fly off the handle. I'm sure he's a little more intense in a competitive round though.

 

My buddy (who was also caddying in this group) mentioned that he accidentally walked across VD's putting line a couple times...my buddy and I had no idea what we were doing out there, we were just trying to help out, stay out of the way, and enjoy the experience. My buddy mentioned that he saw VD staring him down a couple times, until my buddy realized he needed to move out of the way.

 

Anyway, I was glad to see this thread because I was also wondering about him but not enough to remember to look him up when I had the chance.

he was in contention on the weekend at Shell houston in 2015. put up a 78 on saturday but fought back with 66 on sunday to get top 10.

The guy is apparently quite a character, with a very tormented and complicated youth, destined for big ups and big downs depending on his psyche state. It would be very disappointing not to seem him at the Ryder Cup in France! Him and GMac made such a good team!

I believe he left school at 14 to concentrate on golf. Has a homegrown swing so may be more susceptible to form swings.

Seen him in person at the French open in 2016. He came across as shy and looked uncomfortable around people. So much so that he struggled to acknowledge the crowd and wouldn't engage with fans.

The chapter on him in Shane Ryan's book from a couple of years was really interesting.

 

Weird guy and McGinley pretty much had to have GMac babysit him through the Ryder Cup in 2014. That was obviously a great success but I can scarcely remember him doing anything from that point on.

 

If he makes the Ryder Cup team next year, I will be amazed. If there is to be a Frenchman on the European Team it will be Levy.

If he was from a neighboring country, or somewhere with girls with dragon tattoos, he would be either fiery/passionate or intense. Instead, he looks like a large child.

Looks like he's going through some issues, his on-course demeanour is pretty shocking. Doesn't look like he wants to be there, and prone to serious temper. He had a tough upbringing.

Seriously though, he seems like a complex character. Even when playing well he never looked particular happy.
