RIP to my Bushnell Rangefinder that gave me 7 glorious years of service but I dropped it for the first time and it struck the corner of the cart path and shattered beyond repair.  I thought I was destined to have to spend 400 to 500 on a new one but I must give credit where credit is due.  I wanted to try and find the cheapest rangefinder with slope and give it a try before I spent 4 or 5 times that much so I found this guy: 

 

$99.99 on Amazon and it works perfectly fine and I have no complaints at all.  That being said, if I drop it on a cart path it is going to suffer the same fate as my Bushnell but I am really impressed with it thus far and it wasn't a waste of money and should be fine for years and years...if I don't drop it!  Just wanted to push this out to the masses because I was pretty surprised that it actually works perfectly fine actually and has no real flaws and does everything that the more expensive models do.

Good purchase.  Most of the electronics in todays lasers are fairly similar so they give same readings.  What you pay for in the more expensive models is faster processors allowing for near instant lock-on, and premium sealed optics preventing fogging.

I was surprised at how well it locks on to the target even when I think that I missed it and I can't imagine one performing better actually.  I thought it would be a hassle to use but it is just as easy as my Bushnell was.  You are right that the electronics are the same and that is exactly why I was perplexed when I saw the prices up in the $500 dollar range for old tech which I thought was sheer madness.  Thankfully I came across a suitable replacement at a good price.

Update on this item - got one for Christmas present, seems to work well in my backyard tests... agree 100% on the cost factor, rather spend $$ on other stuff. La Nina winter here in Connecticut means I may have a chance Sunday to get out on a course and see for real - mid 50's so fingers crossed!
