Saving a custom activity stream

I want Unread including 19th Hole but excluding BST.  I have tried twice to save a custom stream.  The next time I get in, it's gone. 

Does this function work?

Alright, thanks.  I’ll try again.

Created one.  Named and saved it.  Went away from the site and then came back.  Cannot find it.

OK, first of all I didn't realize you were talking about your phone. I use a desktop.

 

I'm not sure what I'm looking at in your screen shot.

 

It appears as though you HAVE saved a custom stream, named it "Unread My Way" and somehow displayed it, no ?

 

Or were you able to "create it", save it, and take a screen shot BUT you can't actually FIND it anywhere ?

 

I just tried on my iPhone. I found "my Activity Streams" under the 3 bars in the upper right but I can't see MY custom streams under there.

 

So I guess I don't know where your screen shot is coming from as I can't even see a way to even SET UP a customer stream on my phone.

 

OK, so I clicked on the leftmost of the 3 icons under the 3 bars. It gave me a "custom stream" I'd set up long ago BUT I can't find the "Snowman" custom stream I created earlier today and linked to in my last post.

 

Strangely enough, when I click on "Content I Posted In" to find THIS thread (on my phone), I found the link for "Snowman" and clicked on it, and it works. But I can't find the custom "Snaoman" stream anywhere on my phone.

 

Seems like a design issue. Maybe Gxgolfer will chime in.

Well it seemed to let me do all the right things.  But like yours, it’s not to be found.

 

 I was able to create it and supposedly save it.  The screen shot is from the immediate result of creating it.

How were you able to create the Custom Stream though ? Do you HAVE a desktop ? If so, can you find your custom stream under "My Activity Streams" and then "Custom Streams" ???

 

 

So the issue then, is on the iPhone and iPad we can't find "Custom Streams" anywhere.

 

On the DESKTOP it's under "My Activity Streams" and then "Custom Streams". On iPhone and iPad (and Android ?) we can't find it anywhere

 

Wonder if Android has the same issue ?

Seems ok to me, you will have to rotate your screen.

OK, I am on my laptop now.  I do find the custom streams that I created on the iPad.   

 

However, when using the iPad, if I click on My Activity Streams, I get a menu consisting of: My Activity Streams, Content I Started, Content I posted In, Unread Content, and Content I follow.  When I click on that menu's "My Activity Streams", it essentially just closes the menu(s), leaving me on the underlying page that I was viewing.

 

I should add that I'm using Safari on the iPad.  I will try Firefox and report back.

Model number MW742LL/A. (7th gen)

 

Here is what comes up when I select the first level of My Activity Streams. When I select it again from this menu, everything goes away and it shows whichever page I was viewing.  Same thing occurs if I rotate the iPad.  I’m using the mobile site.  How about you?

Try using the full site instead of mobile.  I've seen strange behavior with mobile and menus in the past.

This is almost certainly a media query issue in the CSS. I’m on my phone now but I can look into it a bit when I get to my computers. 
 

If I had to guess, I’d say that @Gxgolfer is on an iPad Pro and @Snowman9000 is on a regular iPad. The difference being the screen size in pixels. I’d have to look at the CSS to see where the break is, but that’s my guess.

If you look at my screenshot, it’s in landscape mode. Yours looks like portrait.

Menu won’t show on phone. You need a wide format. 
 

The screenshot looks narrow. It shows on my 11 inch Pro

Point is that it’s a coding problem with the platform’s CSS. 
 

The media query change is somewhere between the landscape resolution of your iPad Pro and Snowman9000’s gen 7 ipad.

The media query cuts off at 979px. 979 and below you get the responsive mobile navigation.

980 and above you get the full desktop version.

 

You can see below that the "My Activity Streams" link in the mobile nav links to " " which is literally nothing.

Right, we can request a change but it’s likely not going to be addressed. 
 

Recommended solution is to create the custom stream and bookmark it and then share the bookmark to your other devices. Or upgrade the device.

what is the reason that “it’s likely not going to be addressed” 

A dead link in mobile navigation isn’t a big thing to fix and it’s awful for end-user experience. 
 

I’m curious if it’s the platform that is unlikely to fix the problem or if you (GolfWRX) just doesn’t give a rip?

It’s not a dead link. It doesn’t show in a legacy device. We aren’t going to make a global change for backward compatibility for a minority issues.
