I really believe it’s because Mizuno North America doesn’t spend the money on its tour pros like Mizuno Asia does.  I’m not 100% sure but I think Mizuno is one of the biggest sponsors on the Asian tour. So probably not worth their time and money to compete in the US tours. Just a thought. I’ve been a Mizuno homer for over a decade. This year I actually stumbled into a full Mizuno bag and have been completely enjoying it!

As has already been said, ZX5 and Miz 223/223 are in different categories, the comparable Mizuno iron would be the JPX 921 Forged.

I game the mizuno pro 225. I have hit the zx5s as well.  With that said I like the 225 far better but that’s my opinion.

Agreed, if anyone wants to compare these irons u should include the zx7, not the zx5

They’re both great irons. I felt like the 225 was more for me. To me it is about whether you like low or high bounce irons and what your miss tendency is.

 

If low bounce fits, you will likely prefer the Mizunos. It’s why I like Mizunos and New Levels in most of my irons, though I play a ZX4 at 4 iron because it is so darn forgiving. On that count, I would expect the ZX5 would be more forgiving than 225 on chunky hits or impact slightly behind the ball, but some players don’t need that. My miss would be slightly off center and/or thin. For a thin miss the 225 and New Level 902 are both better for me. 
 

But really, if I felt like the 225 was not forgiving enough, before I bought the ZX5 I would at least demo the ZX4. Gets a little overlooked.
