My same setup but with 1.5degree upright. -12 here in Central New York gonna be a while before I can play anywhere

Seriously dude. Looking forward watching the Bills/Pats game tonight in Buffalo (while I'm sitting in front of my fireplace in a warm house). They are saying it is going to be second coldest playoff game in history ... 0* - 4* at kickoff, and that's without windchill. But it is a lot of fun to watch these guys try to play in brutal conditions.

Its nasty in the northeast right now.

I play the 900 tour.  Tried out the 223 a few days ago.  Thing is an absolute cannon and had way too low spin for me.  Fun to hit, but could never put one in the bag.

One should not only focus on spin any longer - it's also about height and descent angle.

True, Spin is consistency though.  I lost about 1800 spin with a fairly large standard deviation. I would have to change balls and bend them 5/6 degrees weaker.  A high spin high launch golfer would probably love them.

I could see the 223 as a good penetrating long iron, but that is about it.  Wasn’t better than my 770 4iron for spin consistency.

I didn’t do any research and though they were a jpx tour alternative, but they are defiantly more of a game improvement iron.

Yes ... and it should be mentioned that the 223s have lofts that are 2* stronger the the 900 Tours throughout most of the set (e.g., 223 4i = 22*; 900 4i = 24* - in fact, the 223 4i is only one degree stronger than the 900 3i). Of course they'll fly lower and longer, all other things being equal.

I've tried both, and didn't (personally) see much difference in spin.

PS. Side note - I've been playing MP20 MMCs this past year. Finally (recently) got to swing the 223s. Was kind of really looking forward to them, but they didn't even come close to kicking the MMCs out of my bag. They aren't bad (not to sound like a Mizzy fan boy, but Mizuno really doesn't make any "bad" irons, there are just some that aren't as good for my game).

Me too. And they are seriously dominating!!!! This isn't a game, it's a blowout. And OMG, that "Bills mafia". It is now -7* w/ windchill, and the stadium is jammed. And these people even did the pregame tailgates in the parking lot. You just don't beat a team with fans like that.

Kinda thinking you and I are having a happy happy night ... 😅

OMG! Another! Josh Allen is just ... well, just the Dude.

The 921 Tour is two degrees weaker.  Guess is that the slightly lower spin and two degrees stronger 223 is what got you your 1 club increase.

Enjoy the new sticks.

That is exactly what I assumed coming from the 919T. The 223 was pretty much a club long in the 7-iron but the interesting thing was it also produced a greater peak height and decent angle, spin was only a fraction down. The 223 is far hotter as I was getting 123-125 ballspeed with the 7-iron 919T but 128-130 with the 223.

I have bought a set but won't be getting rid of the 919T as it will take some time to adjust to the new yardages.

FWIW - Had an iron fitting yesterday - currently gaming the Mizuno 900 Tours which I love.   After around 200 swings and countless combos of 6 iron heads and shafts, opted for the 921 Tours (Gap Wedge thru 6 iron) and the Miz Pro 223's for my 4 and 5 iron.   Both clubs are fantastic - and in my opinion the 223's offer a bit more "boost" while being just as forgiving as the 921's.

Excited for their arrival.

Did you change any of the lofts on the 921Ts to fit the combo?

Are you playing the same shaft in the 223s as the Tours? I might follow this setup as 5 iron is where i don't have the speed anymore and need some help.
