PING Stock "CFS Distance" Steel Iron Shaft... What Aftermarket shaft is similar?

Techs...  I have a question...  PING experienced Pros/Repair people please respond!

 

I have a customer who has broken the shaft of his PING G30 #7 Iron.  It is a stock offering steel shaft, (the CFS Distance, in R Flex.) I thought I could take an old one out of my fitting cart, remove the tip and install it.  However, I do not have this shaft any more.  Therefore I need to find a suitable replacement aftermarket shaft to install, but I have a few questions...

1)  Is this shaft .355 tip taper?

2)  What is the weight of this shaft?

3)  What aftermarket shaft is comparable in launch/kick point to this PING stock offering, back in the day?

4) OR, do I just have him ship it off to PING for a replacement,... which will take forever!

 

It is sheered off at the hosel, so I need to tap the remaining shaft part out of the head.  However, I am not starting any work on it until I get some information.

I believe the cfs was about 100 grams.  Maybe elevate tour or something that is a constant weight shaft.

Another option is to buy that same club from a place like Ironfinders or Dallasgolf and use the shaft from that club

Thought about that, but if that is the case, why am I having to do any work then?  He could just buy the same club and replace it!  (However, he's not doing that, so I don't really want to dig around, since it is also a shaft that is about 1/2" over length.)

Send it back to Ping for repair

1) you have the correct shaft

2) pricing is cheaper that ordering a replacement

3) repairs only take a week or so if components are in stock.

CFS is a descending weight shaft; long irons shafts are heavier than short irons shafts, like a unitized .370 shaft.  I measured some before but I don't know what I did with the data.  Anyway, I seem to remember the long irons were about 110 grams, so that would put the 7 at 105 or something like that.  Medium flight, fairly soft to flex using DG as a basis for comparison.

Repairs are generally quicker than waiting for new custom fit clubs from my experience. Last year my dad snapped his 7 iron as he caught a tree in his follow through and he had it back from ping uk within a week. Only cost him postage too.
