Best Captain's Choice Strategies

Playing in a CC tournament tomorrow. I have never played in one; pretty much only stroke play. Anyone have any good tips in terms of order, taking which shot, etc. I assume one of the three of us will go first and look to get one in play leaving the other two to try and "get after it".

It's where you are put in teams and you take the best shot. So everyone tee's off, then you take the best tee shot. Everyone hits and approach shot, you take the best approach shot. So on and so forth

Ahh OK, so yeah like a Vegas

 

Typically strategy tends to be you go from worst to best whenever possible. That way if the worst player knocks one in play or somewhere safe , the more talented players can try to pull off something more risky and advantageous. (Ie Chasing a tucked pin, trying to crank a drive with a 100% swing etc, getting a read on the putt).

 

Not really much more complicated than that i think. That's usually the strategy

Camden Country Club, the local CC where I live. It's not a USGA/AJGA sanctioned event; just an end-of-season celebration for my HS golf team.

Ah I didn't see you were from Summerville. What courses around the state have you played?

I play primarily at Berkeley Country Club but have played a lot of local courses since moving here 3.5 years ago.

Turtle is genuinely my favorite track, even more so than the OC. If you're ever in the area; you should play Pawleys Plantation!

Me (2 hcp), and 3 of my buddies (all roughly +1's) went 13 under in the tourney.
