I could be interested for the events on the northside.

Local course here used to have a "$5 Friday at 5:00" scramble.  Blind draw and would be teams of whatever made sense with the number of people who showed up and signed up.

Now that I think of it two local courses up this way did that.

There's a group called the High Cotton Club that plays around Nashville every month or so. They are active on the Refuge (no laying up board) and I have played in one of their events. Nice guys, well run (a nice chap by the name of Connor runs it).

There is a morning group that plays out at Harpeth at least once a month, a bunch of low cap guys. Not sure who runs it or how you get in but it does exist.

Sorry I have such scant information. I don't like playing for money so I have never really followed up with any of these things.

Question for the group, is Nashboro worth playing? I haven't been out there in about 7 years and can barely remember the course. Just recall there are a lot of apartment buildings around it.

I was there a few months back when they were the only course open the day before our late freak snowstorm in early spring. There's nothing really wrong with it, but it isn't really good, either. If you are bored with your normal tracks, give it a try. Otherwise, I'd miss it.

Anyone have any experience with lessons at Golftec in Nashville? Like anything I am sure it can be very hit and miss. The main appeal to golftec is that they are affordable and open after my kids go to bed which is really the only time I have that I can take lessons. I was previously taking lessons at Profectus (which I very much recommend) but the commute out to gaylord and the timeslots are no longer conducive to my lifestyle.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I recommend Brian Lackey/Steven Boo - GCOT or Joe Hallet/Gaylon Cude - Legends. These are my recommendations.

Played Shelby today on my lunch break and got around the front 9 in 1 hr and 15 minutes on foot. Gotta say, all the gripes I have about Shelby if I can play 9 holes that fast all the time I might have to start playing there once a week. They had just aerated the greens last week so they were a tad bumpy and fairly slow but overall conditions aren't that bad. #7 green is in fairly rough shape but overall, I would never use my weekend round to play here but as a place to work on your game and hit some fun shots...it isn't that bad! A great place for a 1/2 bag (especially if you are walking in 95 degree heat up and down those hills like I was today).

Shelby is a fantastic option. The greens need to be expanded and conditions needs to be improved, but it is a fun track. IMO tere are some stupid holes (4, 5, 8, and 12), but the back 9 has a few fantastic holes. 13 thru 17 is top notch. The greens are never going to be good enough to feel like a full test, but good driving, iron play, and chipping is needed out there. I wish it was better, but it is perfect for what it is.

I would temper your expectations on the conditioning side and the layout to some extent as there are a lot of nits to pick but when it is wide open like it was today it's pretty great.

I played Harpeth Hills this morning at 6:15am. I've never seen its greens in such good condition.

Anyone know what kind of simulator Nashboro has? No information on their site and no one answers the phone when I call.

Also, anywhere where I can rent a trackman or GCQuad for $50 or less/hour? Ideally be able to hit out onto a range so I can see actual ball flight as well. Profectus rents a trackman but that is $100/hr right now which is....steep.

Not sure what the sim is, but Nashboro doesn't have a range so I'm not sure if you'd get to hit it outside.

What are you needing to measure? I have Launch Pro.

Face to Path, AoA, Ball Speed, Swing Speed, Carry for Driver and 5W. Also want to do a head to head for a 5i vs my 5 hybrid (land angle, carry, dispersion). You know, this and that.

Do you like your Launch Pro? How often do you use it?

I love it.

Sometimes the spin is off with wedges on range balls. The yardages are very good thouhg. I don't have the gold version right now because I can't hit in my apartment. More than welcome to use it for yardages, ball speed, ss.

I practice at the Little Course everyday, just ask @Minarets
