I feel that I may be one of the ultimate cheapskate golfers, but works for me and allows me to play more rounds and pay for more buckets. Have a deal with my wife that if I ever get to the level where I can break 80 on a consistent basis, that I will plunk down for new equipment. currently shoot in low 80's with the lowest being an 82. All of my equipment is from ebay except bag that was a hand me down.

I'm 17 and have to buy pretty much everything I "want" unless it's a birthday gift, christmas gift or something like that so I'm kinda limited as far as what I can do buying golf clubs when I'm split saving my money as well as trying to sport a decent bag. I'm saving up for a new set of irons this offseason so hopefully I'll have a set of Callaway X-20's by the time the snow clears and the weather warms up. Also, when I get the money following the purchase of the X-20's, I'll probably add a new driver and a decent, cheap set of wedges.

That is awesome.... 32 years old, still getting cool presents, 10 handicap. So far this year, I've actually made money on buying and selling equipment through some big scores. Won't last long.
