At what point do you file a fed Ex claim???

Looking for guidance on when you would file (or ask seller to ) a Fed Ex/UPS claim for a lost package??  How many days late or how many days where it has been stuck at one location (destination) with no updates and status changed to Pending??

Package was sent by seller and had an initial deliver date of this past Wednesday.  From following the movement via their website package arrived at the Local Fed Ex facility 8.45 PM on Tuesday, still showing a Wednesday delivery.  Showed Wednesday delivery till approx 7PM Wednesday(never showed out for delivery), then moved to Thursday delivery date, stayed there till approx 8PM Thursday and then changed to Pending / Delayed where it still sits, approx 20 miles from my house.....Have tried Fed Ex but cant get any additional info than what web site offers.

Same thing happened to me last week with a new putter on the way.  Very frustrating.  The putter made it to within 25 miles of my house, then sat and sat and sat.  Tracking info kept changing.  Finally I received it several days later delivered by something other than a FedEx truck.

 

I'm going to try and make it a point in the future to ask the seller NOT to ship via FedEx.  F**k FedEx.  UPS is much more reliable.  USPS is the best.

 

Oh, and the best part is I received an email 5 days later saying it was delivered.  Update your systems!  You're the Southwest Airlines of delivery services.

I ordered a BGT putter shaft in the middle of November from a member. Seller shipped it on Nov 21st. It never showed any movement until dec 19th where it showed it finally left the origin. It moved in 2 days to ATL and has been there ever since, which is 3 1/2 hours away. Tracking data keeps updating then goes back to pending but it never moves. The seller refunded me weeks ago before it ever showed movement. Fedex seems to be a joke these days.

Actually the USPS sucks too.  This from a retired 32 year carrier.  UPS by far the best right now.  That's not saying much. But...
