Help with Edel putter tech...

Trying to decide if I'm crazy or in the right on this...thoughts are appreciated.

Quick background...love the tech, stroke that the LAB putters create, they look a little crazy. Was reading about the Edel EAS putters and their toe up tech and sounded similar but with a more traditional look. Bought some used Edel EAS heads on Ebay and sent them in to Edel to get built with my specs. When I get them back they are both basically rest in the "face balanced" position (slightly toe up) like many other putters. Not the Toe Up that they talk about (screenshot from their site below). I messaged them about this and they said they "utilize the torque balanced technology when the putters are off the horizontal plane and on the incline plane" even though they do not rest in the toe up position. Not trying to speak poorly about a company but it seems to me that if the face balance is the same as another face balance putter, torque is going to apply the same when the putter is used.

Am I being crazy here?

Certain configurations results in a full toe up. I had one built in their last generation of putters and it's toe up but depending on the offset and lie angle they put you in that will change the toe position.

Honestly if it rolls well and you're making putts I don't think it matters a ton but they kinda backed themselves in a corner with the toe up as people will think fully toe up.

Right, they told me that. They said the forward offset is the most toe up and some head shapes as well. Seems almost like false advertising though.

A toe up putter is going to feel way different than a face balanced one when it is used. I don't see how they can say the tech/idea still applies to both.

I would agree this technically isn't the same as LAB but is comparable to other putters like the Odyssey Toe Up models. BUT! So what. Is it rolling the ball well or has the "tech" confusion already caused some doubt in the back of your head?

Regardless, they are nice putters that focus on alignemnt and proper fittings. They make nice head shapes aswell.

I never thought the tech was the same, but I did love using the LAB putters because they did feel automatic. I have a hard time aiming center shafted putters though so thought the more traditional looking Edel putters and their Toe Up tech might render a similar feel.

I had the Edel brick awhile ago and that was toe up as well. I could see how the "Toe Up" = less torque claim could make sense...but not when the putters you get are face balanced. Feels like they should say that only certain builds make them the toe up balance if that is the case.

And all previous comments aside...they are very nice looking putters. Like the feel alot and the interchangeable alignment plates to put on is pretty interesting to play around with.
