PRGR misreads

I have the PRGR black and it’s usually really good to use except when I use it with speed training. I’m doing The Stack and sometimes instead of a reading around 100mph I get 34 or 28 or whatever but way way off. I assume it’s catching my backswing but I’m not sure. It’s so frustrating swinging over and over to get an accurate reading. I usually have it a few feet behind club path and sometimes when it acts up I try tossing. Ore inside on the takeaway and it might work. Anyone have this issue or know how to get it to read correctly?

I am using one in the basement.  My driver speed is about 105mph with prgr outside but it is reading stack "eSpeed" as about 95 (86 with 195g) when training inside. So, for me it also reads stack swings slow but it's super consistent so it's fine for tracking.

 

Reads of 34 is a bit weird though!

Ya, the stack speeds are slow because it’s shorter than your driver. At least I think that’s one reason.

I’ll have to move it and try. So many super low readings. Took over 45 minutes to get 34 swings in.

I use mine on the range, and I sometimes get weird readings that result in a max smash factor when I clearly mishit the ball or am not even using the driver.  Has anyone else seen this happen?

I find that the PRGR works great when hitting balls. I use mine most for The Stack and placement of the unit is very tricky. I can’t get through a session without several misreads. I’ve narrowed placement down to minimize the misreads though.

I assume these readings are pretty bad right?  I was hitting actual balls.  3 hybrid and 8 iron (both sloppy shots) should not be seeing 1.58 and 1.55 smash.

I'm not real confident it reads distance or smash accurately. Considering your pictures lol. I use it for swing speed and ball speed mainly which is pretty close to top end units.

I only use mine for Stack training.

 

I use an alignment stick along the target line and place the unit on the box.

 

It has not  missed a swing.

I was wondering if it was under-reading the swing speed, because the distance seems pretty consistent.  That could easily throw off the smash factor.  But if you guys are using it for speed training you're probably more tuned into swing speed.  I might try to get another unit in case this one is defective...

The same thing happens to me from time to time. I don’t think it necessarily your back swing. I think mine is more of me being offline swinging through and it doesn’t catch it right. I like the idea of using an alignment stick. It happens to me when I do the step swings only I think.

I have the blue Swing speed radar and contemplated getting the PRGR, but I don't think it makes THAT much of a difference with speed training. especially the price tag.

that's a good idea, might do that with mine. didn't think about the shortened stack length
