I'm one of the testers and I haven't tried it in the rain/wet conditions yet.  I probably wouldn't feel comfortable wearing it in rain unless it is an extremely light rain.  I think it would be good to repel a very light sprinkle/mist.

Overall, I'm impressed with the pullover.  The details of the elastic cinched cuffs are helpful.  The collar is also comfortable without any chafing from the zipper or stitching.  I'd say it's a comfortable, mid-weight pullover with a good amount of stretch.

If you are smaller like myself, it's hard to find these kind of items that fit well.  Most often with Nike apparel the sleeves are way too long for me.  I am 5'6" and wear small and this Adidas pullover fits perfectly with no excess slack in the arms or body.

I'm a tester and I just received this product in the mail.  The product seems nice and well priced considering how much pricing has moved up in apparel in my opinion.  The fleece has an old-school fleece feel, and a nice mid-weight pullover for those 50's temps.

I haven't had this out on the course yet, but I feel like "water resistant" makes more sense for the shoulder areas than the torso area, as the fleece seems like it would get wet.

I will test outdoors but initial impressions - the pullover seems to be high quality and is a nice mid-temp option.

It clearly states water repellent, big difference.

Well if their "waterproof guarantee" does in fact allow for water to enter into a shoe, then I can only imagine them claiming something is "water repellent" means you could very well end up looking like a wet rat and that would be perfectly acceptable.

I dont think any reasonable person is thinking this would be fine in a downpour. Are you the my coffee is too hot guy too?

Thank you to GolfWRX and Adidas for the opportunity!  I received the pullover a few days ago and wore it all day yesterday and now again today.

My initial feedback follows...

LIKES
Incredibly soft
Very warm
Extremely flexible
Unrestrictive
Not itchy
Sleeve bottoms taper down and have an elastic-like trim

DISLIKES
Snug fit around mid section and bottom (small to size?)

DETAILS

For a little more detail, specifically around the "dislike", it's more of a personal preference.  I prefer my clothing to be rather loose.  If you're a Millennial or Gen-Z'er and like your skinny jeans and skin tight clothing then this is probably right up your alley.  If you're a Gen-X'er like myself and yearn for the days of Hammer pants and Z-Cavaricci then you'll know what I'm talking about.

Regarding details around the "likes", as mentioned it's incredibly soft and warm.  It almost feels like you're just wrapped in a soft blanket. Due to the flexible and elastic nature all over it's not restricting at all (even with it being a snugger fit than I'd prefer).  I have the luck of having space in my home to be able to hit balls year round.  The caveat however is that the space is in an unfinished walk-in attic area and therefore I have to deal with temperature fluctuations that attics have and prepare/plan my practice sessions.  This means during the Winter months I need to warm the area ahead of time and if I'm lucky I might be able to get the temperature around 45* if it's ~25* to 30* outside.  For the past 2 days I've hit balls in this pullover and not only have I been warm as can be but I've not felt any sort of swing restrictions at all.  I would have zero issues playing a real round of golf while wearing it. Unfortunately I won't be doing that for another 2 months. That said, I will continue to wear this as my pullover of choice to hit balls during the off season Winter months.

I don't golf on purpose in the rain and since forecasting around here is rather accurate as far as rain goes I don't need to worry about getting hit in a downpour.  So as far as the water repellent feature goes I can't really say.  However this isn't a pullover that you would be wearing in the summer months.  Due to it's warmth it would be strictly relegated to Spring and Fall rounds when it's below 55 degrees.

Looking forward to the reviews.  Curious if you got to pick your colors or if they are all Dallas Cowboy themed like the one in the first post?

I was not given a choice of colors so I ended up with the blue/gray combo size only. There are 2 other colors available.

But I did wear it, very, very comfortable and more importantly, WARM. It's a Santa Ana windy & chilly day here in Los Angeles.

I'll post tomorrow my initial review as I am still assessing. Pretty excited with it so I'll golf with it this weekend and I plan to taking it to the Mammoth snow next month and go ride with it to test it's warmth and wicking capabilities.

Stay tuned...

It was a chilly 46* with sunny skies this Los Angeles morning. Unfortunately or fortunately, no rain

I headed to our local muni, Woodley Lakes for a round with my usual Saturday golf suspects.

Pull over was warm to wear. I didn't wear any under layer. Occasionally, a Pacific breeze would waffle in and as I said earlier in my review, these polyester fleece are not wind proof - at least not the lower half.

The upper double knit area was warm. I never had to zip up to the neck.

Golfing was easy-peasy with this pullover. Did not hinder any part of the swing and frankly, I was having a lot of fun bombing the driver

I can load nicely with this pullover.

Ok, so I got home and just about ready to send the pullover to the washing machine - so I decide to test the fabric for water repellent.

I just set the kitchen faucet to medium pressure and lightly spray the pullover.

Here are the result:

1163238165_2023-01-2817_11_38.jpg.3542e170389841841de71ae744c955f3.jpg

The double knit section was pretty repellent, you can clearly see the water beads on top.

The lower fleece section did bead initially but eventually, the water soaked in.

I would think, at best, this is for light / misty shower.

I'll wash it tomorrow and see if it's still repellent afterwards.

Rain is projected tomorrow thru Monday, so I may try on Monday and see how it does when I go to a very wet range.

Overall, I am super pleased with the warmth this pullover provides and sizing is PERFECT for my body as I did not have to adjust the sleeves or anything during the round.

The next test will be after President's Day when I head out to Mammoth and use the pullover as a mid layer for snowboarding. Really looking forward to that and I am missing a long sleeve fleece layer. All my layers are cotton long sleeve but I run 3 layers or 4 if it's super cold so I hope to eliminate some layers with this pullover.

The water repellent upper portion should come in handy as that's where the snow will sneak in from the collar area.

One improvement and may be it's just me, I would have liked a mid/small size pockets. My old, old 1990s Columbia fleece has one surely a 2023 Adidas one, some pockets can be added to the side.

❤ to Golf and I ❤to Snowboard in winter.

Been doing both since I was mid 20s and it keeps me active & presents a wonderful break from my 9-5 desk job.

I am of average height at 5'9 and I generally wear size Large in pullovers and Tees.

Like everyone living in the post COVID world, I am a little heavier set but I always walk when I golf to burn some calories.

Most of my golfing clothes are Costco/Kirkland since my wifey totally loves the store.

For snowboarding, I always wear stuff from Burton. I am an old school rider that believes in Burton. They make just the best quality soft & hard goods, especially their "AK" range with the Goretex-XCR. When you are in the windy and freezing snow, you want top quality gear to keep you dry and warm.

The cheap stuff is just not wicking and water proof enough in the demanding environment - tried that & froze. Not fun.

I am really look forward to riding the mountains with this Adidas pullover. It's mid weight material is perfect as a mid layer under my heavy jacket or shell.

Or when Spring arrives, as an outer layer

About the Adidas Pullover

I received the Grey Tree/Crew Navy pullover in the Large size.

So how large is "Large", here are the actual measurements of my pullover:

Build Quality

Excellent!

Love the polyester double knit on the top which adds to the warmth. Bottom half is fleece.  According to Adidas, both materials are recycled - pretty cool IMHO.

My Initial Thoughts

Got the pull over on Saturday. Just in time as it's been really cold here in Los Angeles.

Wore it to the office this Monday morning. Brrrrrrrh, it was 39* in the morning.

Ahhhh...so warm and very comfortable. Not itchy. No static either. I have another older Columbia fleece but I hardly wear it since it generates a lot of static.

After work, I headed to the golf range to work on my game.

#1 I love the length of the sleeves for Golf. PERFECT. It even has a band at the end of the sleeve. My other pullovers are always a tad long so I end up folding them inside, but alas, they always unfold during the round.

/cdn-cgi/mirage/fed088af6721e2a6065bf2f6fef696cb9ece8850ed775d74697eaed6d78a91ba/1280/cdn-cgi/mirage/fed088af6721e2a6065bf2f6fef696cb9ece8850ed775d74697eaed6d78a91ba/1280/https://wrxcdn.golfwrx.com/uploads/monthly_2023_01/197294385_2023-01-2310_37_57.jpg.4a3d6e45dc44372b8f92664c1402409e.jpg

#2 No restriction with the golf swing. Hit some short and mid irons today and then my driver. All the swings felt very comfortable.

/cdn-cgi/mirage/fed088af6721e2a6065bf2f6fef696cb9ece8850ed775d74697eaed6d78a91ba/1280/cdn-cgi/mirage/fed088af6721e2a6065bf2f6fef696cb9ece8850ed775d74697eaed6d78a91ba/1280/https://wrxcdn.golfwrx.com/uploads/monthly_2023_01/driver.jpg.37239256684d1677071096402bac1565.jpg

Went putting and it got chillier as the sun set below the club house

/cdn-cgi/mirage/fed088af6721e2a6065bf2f6fef696cb9ece8850ed775d74697eaed6d78a91ba/1280/cdn-cgi/mirage/fed088af6721e2a6065bf2f6fef696cb9ece8850ed775d74697eaed6d78a91ba/1280/https://wrxcdn.golfwrx.com/uploads/monthly_2023_01/Bstanding.jpg.068b0000e7604116b3a62ba05bb201e9.jpg

For me, this is pullover is perfect at temps 60* or less and not too windy. Personally, I don't think ANY polyester fleece is any good as a wind breaker by itself. However, add an under layer and it would do very nicely.

Let's finish on this...

Adidas team left this little Easter Egg - my response = 👍 & 🍻

/cdn-cgi/mirage/fed088af6721e2a6065bf2f6fef696cb9ece8850ed775d74697eaed6d78a91ba/1280/cdn-cgi/mirage/fed088af6721e2a6065bf2f6fef696cb9ece8850ed775d74697eaed6d78a91ba/1280/https://wrxcdn.golfwrx.com/uploads/monthly_2023_01/2144876600_2023-01-2421_30_05.jpg.fa92f3e3c5aeddf3b7c46ec2d97cbd4d.jpg

More information can be found here at Adidas.com: https://www.adidas.com/us/water-repellent-1-4-zip-pullover/HF6528.html

Right now, the price is $60 which. IMO, pretty good for a name brand pullover with water proofing capabilities - yet to be tested but really, I don't feel like standing in the shower with it 😂

However, I'll try some "spot" water testing tomorrow when I have time to see how the water reacts on the material

Once again, THANK YOU GolfWRX and Adidas for this opportunity

Thank you for taking the time to create such a thorough review! Lookin’ good!

Most of my golfing clothes are Costco/Kirkland since my wifey totally loves the store.

mammoth.jpg.bc4e2dc80e64bb77582ea5babc23a729.jpg

Here are pictures of the pullover:

Adidas has some nice touches to this pullover, see the close up photos:

NOTE the fine, detail touch of the zipper. NICE!

#2 No restriction with the golf swing. Hit some short and mid irons today and then my driver. All the swings felt very comfortable.

driver.jpg.37239256684d1677071096402bac1565.jpg

Went putting and it got chillier as the sun set below the club house

Bstanding.jpg.068b0000e7604116b3a62ba05bb201e9.jpg

For me, this is pullover is perfect at temps 60* or less and not too windy. Personally, I don't think ANY polyester fleece is any good as a wind breaker by itself. However, add an under layer and it would do very nicely.

Let's finish on this...

Adidas team left this little Easter Egg - my response = 👍 & 🍻

2144876600_2023-01-2421_30_05.jpg.fa92f3e3c5aeddf3b7c46ec2d97cbd4d.jpg

More information can be found here at Adidas.com: https://www.adidas.com/us/water-repellent-1-4-zip-pullover/HF6528.html

Right now, the price is $60 which. IMO, pretty good for a name brand pullover with water proofing capabilities - yet to be tested but really, I don't feel like standing in the shower with it 😂

However, I'll try some "spot" water testing tomorrow when I have time to see how the water reacts on the material

Once again, THANK YOU GolfWRX and Adidas for this opportunity

Amazing review as always!  The pullover looks great on you, enjoy.

Adidas’s next challenge should be to see if they can make matching pants to contain those calves!

These are already in our local Adidas outlet. 50% off lol.

😉 everything gets discounted, even their vaunted S2G shoes that I like. Might pick up a white pullover, love the color.

Here's my take on the Adidas pullover after using it once on the course and once on the driving range.

Pros:

  • Fit is perfect.  Stretchy enough that you don't notice any restriction when swinging.
  • Best thing about the fit is the sleeves are perfect length for me and provided elastic cuffs that are not restrictive and keep the bottom of the sleeve out of the way.
  • Warmth is good as the fleece is quite thick.
  • Very comfortable overall.
  • The zipper portion at the neck is protected with a layer of fleece so the metal zipper doesn't chafe your neck.

Cons:

  • Water repellant in the upper part but not really in the lower fleece area.  Fortunately, it did not rain while I was playing.
  • Wind cuts through the fleece parts.  I play golf in the San Francisco bay area and temps were in the low to mid 40's.  I had a turtleneck and vest on beneath and walked the course.
  • I saw the price tag and it seemed a little pricey, although it looks like others are finding it on sale for 50% off already.

About the fit:  I'm 5'6" and 135 lbs and wore a Medium.  It was very comfortable and not tight or restrictive in any way.  I have shorter arms but the arm length fit very comfortably for me.  Not sure how it would fit if you have longer arms.

While I haven’t had a chance to wear the pullover yet - way too much snow on the ground at the moment and temperatures have been scary low lately here in New England - I wanted to provide some initial feedback.

The quality is top notch, what you’d expect from Adidas.  The fleece gives you that snug feeling, but with stretch that doesn’t feel like it’ll restrict your swing.  I’ll provide some additional feedback when I get to the range.

I’m a lanky 6’4” and the large fits perfect.

More to come…
