Jailbird strangely similar to Fowler’s

I stumbled upon nearly the same putter as Fowler’s current Versa Jailbird in the used-putter section of pgatss (I should’ve taken a pic). Same versa color scheme, micro-hinge insert and bottom lead tape (covering same o-works style sole + weights); the only differences is that it had a red SL shaft instead of steel, and a single sight line instead of thee three dots. It was in very good shape fwiw.
 

Any ideas on the origin of this Versa/O-work Jailbird?

I sold this one awhile back. Only seen a handful of them. This one had a top line instead of the 3 dots alignment.

Saw one identical to Fowler's on the bay the day he appeared with it.  Japanese seller with a very positive feedback history.  Really reasonable price so i jumped on it and went to bed.  Woke up in the AM and they had refunded me and cancelled the transaction saying they found "damage" on it.  Low and behold 3 weeks later it was back on there with a ridiculous and huge BIN price, which some sucker jumped on.

This is jailbird mini painted correct. 

Just bought one and trying to recreate fowler putter. No way the regular versa had o works weight and micro hinge

Not sure why counter balanced putters never caught on. I would definitely snag one of these if Odyssey ever brought it back

This putter should be a bigger story. It's a key piece behind Fowler's return to form and Wyndham Clark's first win. Apparently he had a jailbird build exactly like Fowler's after playing with him at Medalist. At a minimum, the Jailbird needs to be released again with the new Versa line.

I have two Jailbird Minis with Microhinge inserts. Are you telling me that if I paint the white stripes and cover the soles with lead tape, I can triple their eBay value?

I think Rickie has the microhinge but blacked out, similar to what was in the first stroke labs. Rahm had the microhinge star which is different.

The O-works insert is the micro hinge insert. Rahm has the microhinge star insert.

O works insert body is  regular jailbird with jailbird mini weight in sole and lead tape

Also, just to add onto this, I agree about the counter balanced putter notion. Very nice feel, to me super similar to the LAB putters. Smooth, light feel through the stroke
