Srixon Adapter Compatibility?

Quick question team, 

 

Anyone know if the previous gen Srixon driver adapters fit the current gen drivers?  For example, can we use something all the way back to the 785ish series on the current heads, or was there a change in there somewhere?

Sent a note to Srixon customer service, but haven't heard back yet.

Yeah man, good question. I've been trying to figure out the compatibility of Srixon adapters to the Cleveland line, and it has been a real hassle. 

 

Golfworks offers two different OEM Srixon adapters (both currently out of stock, IIRC). One was for the older "z" models and a newer one for the "zx" models.

 

All I know is that they are tough to come by these days. Not sure if there is an aftermarket adapter that might work.

 

Srixon/Cleveland customer service said they were going to send me two adapters, free of charge, about two months ago. Then claimed my address had some troubles. Then never sent. Then stopped replying to my email inquiries.

 

So, I guess I'm sticking with the stock shaft in my driver. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers, I guess.

According to www.shaftconnect.com the same adapter will work for the new ZX MK II stuff all the way back to the Z355.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one getting stonewalled by customer service.  And I've seen it listed both ways on different sites that sell adapters...some claim to be cross-compatible, some say Z or ZX.  Im honestly tempted to buy a cheap Z driver off 3balls or something, just to see if the adapters fit, then return the thing.  Might be quicker than waiting for an official reply!

Yeah man, I had no idea that these adapters would be so tough to come by. There's got to be a giant box of them in an assembly plant somewhere.

I bought some of the cheap aftermarket adapters from eBay and they work just fine.  Otherwise any Srixon dealer can order them directly through Srixon.

Does anyone know if the settings are the same on the older Z adapter and the MK adapter? They both say different things in the laser etchings of lie/angle/etc - but do they end up doing the same thing with whatever model?

Man, I wish I had an answer for you. About as good as I can do is state that I've used both and haven't noticed any clear difference in play - although it's abundantly clear they aren't the same. 

 

What I can confirm is the fact that getting current model Cleveland/Srixon sleeves seems to be a particular pain. Took me a month of begging customer service to get one.

 

Located the older ones on Golfworks.

I think I see what's going on here. I have some older adapters I use in a Z545 and Z745. These adapters adjust lie angle from standard to upright. Looking at Srixon's website, the newer adapters are labeled standard to flat.

So I think, with the two adapters you have, is that one is labeled standard to upright, and the other flat to standard.

The adapter with the +1 lie angle is the standard to upright, and the adapter with the -1 lie angle is flat to standard.

Left adapter, +1 = 1° upright from the flattest setting (standard). Lie settings range from 0 to +2

Right adapter, -1 = 1° upright from the flattest setting (flat). Lie angle settings range from -2 to 0

Settings are the same, but lie angles are labeled differently.

So do both adapters do the exact same thing - but depending on which head is used that is what happens? So if I use the Z-series adapter on a MK II head it will do what the MK II adapter says?

I believe that's correct, but the upright setting would be the same as the standard in the new adapter, and standard in the old is comparable to flat in the new.

Yes, they are exactly the same, with just the lie angle labeled differently.

The old adapter labels the lie angle as 0° to +2°

The new adapter labels the lie angle as -2° to 0°

But the lie angles are exactly the same with both adapters in the same position.
