Course suggestions for Philadelphia - Atlantic City region

I have played both and I am may be getting the story mixed up but not the courses. My in-laws live in Galloway Twp. and for the entire time that my wife and I dated her parents lived on the 5th hole at Marriott Seaview Pines course. I have played and still do play a lot of golf when I am down in that area. I really wish I could swing getting in on Twisted Dune this weekend.....

I like Twisted dune alot, and way better than McCullough's.. I've played well at McCullough's but just don't enjoy it at all. Personally, there's way better courses down the shore points than McCullough's. I'm hoping to hit Sand Barrens next week if the weather agree's with us, my father's a member there (for now) and we're going to knock the ball around. He may join Stone Harbor, which I'm hoping because it's a phenominal course...

I don't think you are missing much with Twisted Dune this weekend. The weather on Saturday certainly isn't looking very good, at least it isn't on the PA side of the bridge.

 

Ripsid, I completely agree that TD is better than McCullough's. The 2 holes on the other side of the road are very poor, especially the par 4. Those holes just don't really fit with the rest of the course. It's almost as if those 2 holes were an afterthought.

My buddy and I played Pine Hill Friday and Twisted Dune Saturday. I loved both. Thank you very much for the recommendations. Didn't play Pine Hill from the tips because it was cold and windy and my first game in 4 months, but played TD from the tips yesterday and had much fun.

 

We'll be back to Twisted Dune today and to Pine Hill on Monday. The forecast is for warmer wheather so it should be great.

 

By the way, I asked Sam at TD and he told me that TD had been built on a horse farm (except for 13 and 14 which were built on a quarry). McCullough's was built on a landfill.

 

 

TD's par 3s really impressed me. From the tips, they are great holes. Lots more fairway at TD than at Pine Hill (42 acres versus 17 at Pine Hill). Can't wait to play both again.

You know what I've had many chances to play an each time I had some BS and couldn't play!

 

I hope to get there this summer with my pop... i'll be playing sandbarrens probably next weekend or next week, and from what I hear the Vineyards in 2 weeks.

I am sure you will enjoy Sand Barrens, it is one hell of a golf course. The Vineyards is nice, greens are usually in good shape and it has a good mix of holes. It is nto where close to as tough as either Pine Barrens or Stone Harbor, but a fun course that you have some room to pull out the driver.
