Just had a question for yall. Has anyone had golf club shipped to them via USPS PARCEL post??? And if so was there any issue??

Parcel post is just a shipping option for USPS.  For larger packages  (including long packages like clubs), you will find USPS priority is generally within a dollar or two  (sometimes just pennies) different from USPS Parcel Post.

 

That said, UPS and FEDEX are far better shipping options for clubs anymore because of the ridiculous $15 USPS upcharge on packages over 22" .  I highly recommend getting a scale and establishing a pirateship.com account.  The scale will pay for itself within 2-3 shipments using that option.  Pirateship.com  is great.  I saved $35 on one shipment using that.  

 

I bought this scale from Amazon a year or so ago https://www.amazon.com/Accuteck-Shipping-Display-Batteries-Adapter/dp/B005BTWMPQ?th=1  It weighs up to 85lbs, has multiple settings  (grams, pounds, ounces, etc) and is extremely accurate (it is within  one-tenth of an ounce with the scale at the post office).  I weigh everything from mail packages to golf club components  (weights, adapters, clubheads, shafts, etc).  Even on the gram setting it is exact.

Parcel post takes forever

I would NOT ship Parcel Post as it will likely take FOREVER. I think I'm done shipping USPS for clubs altogether. Sold an iron set for the first time in probably 2-3 years several months ago and it was like $65 with their new surcharge for length. Checked UPS afterwards and they were less than half the price.  

 

I made a purchase on here that was shipped this past Monday from TX and it's God knows where right now. Shows it was received at the post office Monday and at the origin facility Monday night and that's the last update for tracking. Just says it's "Moving through the network" and was supposedly supposed to be here Friday. I've noticed with the last several packages the deliveries are slow and the tracking is pathetic. You're pretty much just guessing when it'll be delivered until it shows up at the destination office and updates. 

 

And this is for a Priority Mail package, so I can't imagine how horrible Parcel Post would be right now. Back when Priority Mail was a good option, delivery would be 2 days for most packages and 3 if it was coming from across the country.  Not any more.

 

I'd definitely look at UPS. Much better prices, better tracking, and will likely get there much sooner. Fed Ex, too.
