Ping G425 6h is 30 I think. You can crank it down to 28.5.

The 9-wood I bought is 24*. Love it as it replaces my 5i. I want to replace my 6i with a hybrid but unsure of what loft I should get. Does 28* make sense or is a 24* hybrid basically one club less than the 24* 9-wood? Thanks.

Yes, 28* in a hybrid should be the correct gapping.

I'm looking to do the same. I play ping G710 irons, I replaced my 5 iron (23 degrees) with a Ping G425 9 wood (23.5 degrees) This is my 185 to 190 yard club. I'm looking to replace my 6 iron (26 degrees) with a hybrid. Looking for 175 to 180 yard gap. It sounds like the Ping G425 5 Hybrid (26 degrees) cranked up to 27.5 degrees would be the way to go ? The Ping 6 hybrid is ( 30 degrees ) and can be turned down to ( 28.5 degrees )

9wd & 5h basically covers the same yardage- just different trajectories IMO

You've got to test it but for a 6i iron replacement assuming it has good gapping from your 7 iron, to start with a 7 hybrid. However, if your 6i goes similar distance to your 7i, then go 6H to get enough of a gap from your 7i.

Also, static lofts don't just carry over from a gapping perspective especially when you go from clubs of different types.

a 24 degree Fairway is different from a 24 degree hybrid or 24 degree iron. Lengths are different (affecting club head speed), and dynamic loft, attack angle, etc will be different due to CG and the delivery.  You'll see people with both a 5 iron and a 5 hybrid.  or both a 6 iron and a 6 hybrid in their set.

Thanks for the info. The reason I'm looking at a hybrid to replace the 6 iron is I hit my 7 iron 165, but my 6 iron is only 169. So, i have a pretty big gap from the 6 iron (169) to the ( 9 wood ) 185/190

Little faster than me....I'd think a 6h turned down is perfect here. I go 9wd - 6h when I carry 11....there's a small gap, so I force the 6h or lay off the 9wd

I added a 9 wood this year.  Carry; 180 into the wind and 200 the other way around.  Doubtful if I ever hit a set 4 or 5 iron again.  The draw bias doesn't suit me, but the loft and launch are so high that it mostly negates any draw hook misses.

Thought this would work with a high loft hybrid as well, so I been hunting this 33° 8 hybrid for a couple months and finally scored! (Cally Preowned has been seriously F'd up)  I get it tomorrow.

In the mean time the brilliant golf brain said you'd better try a 7 just in case...  So of course I have different 29° 7 sitting in my checkout cart waiting for me to pick a shaft.

The only real way to know what loft hybrid will fit is to test them.  Not all club/lofts are equal in distance.

My 4,5,6 and 7 hybrids are the same loft and length as the corresponding iron. They go about 5 yards longer then the same iron.  This means I have a slightly larger gap from 7h to 8 iron.  About 15 yards.
