Apex pro 19 to Apex CB? Anyone?

For the better part of the last few years I’ve played Apex pro 19. Love the irons. Probably my favorite of all time. I’m curious though if anyone has made the jump from those to the Apex CB’s that just came out? Tried 21 pros for a while. Feel and sound was not great compared to 19. New Apex Pro looked horrendous compared to 19.

My current set of Apex 19 pro needs to be replaced. I’m either going to find another set of those or possibly the CBs. Just looking for feedback from anyone who’s played both.

Thanks!

I'm in a similar same boat. Cant decide on the Callaway CB or wait to view the Ping Blueprint S. Any opinions???

Ping Blueprint S are going to be solid for sure, but the CB's are really nice and for me i wouldn't want to pay the Blueprint S price if they're going to be as expensive as I have heard.

This will be no help either, but this year's CB has to be the best looking iron Callaway has made in a LONG time. Call it a mental handicap or whatever you want, but I have to like what I'm looking down at or I won't hit it well and these check all the aesthetic boxes for me.

What have you heard on blueprint s price?  Somebody posted 215 a club.  That would put it in the same ball park as stock titliest (208?) and callaway s (214?)releases.

You're right i have seen $212.50 per club. Initially i was hearing $250. The only other consideration is what shaft would you want and is it extra $$ from Ping vs. Callaway.

I've never gamed either, but the 19' Apex Pro is probably my favorite looking Callaway iron to-date. The 21' Apex pro design does not look as great IMO, kind of a strange design - can't tell if it's suppose to be a muscle-back or what. For the 23' Apex CB, i've heard great things but I'd still take the 19' Apex Pro in terms of aesthetics. Obviously looks aren't as important as performance, but any "improvements" in the past 5 years are going to be marginal - if any at all

'19 Apex Pros has face cup technology in the mid to long irons whereas the '23 CB's do not. Which means the '23 CB's likely are more consistent with launch and spin #'s. Not saying that's marginally better or worse, but just stating the difference in technology when they thought about each model and what they were gearing them towards.

Gotcha, that makes sense, thanks for clarifying. I think both are great for what they are, the 19's have pretty normal lofts, a sleek 'tour' design, but are still quite hot - which is great for a lot of people but, like you said, might cause some inconsistencies for others. They were quite popular on Tour at the time - i still see some staffers gaming them. But a single-piece forged iron with no fancy tech, like the CB's, will always win in terms of pure consistency. However I think the 21’ TCB’s (the iron of choice by many Tour staffers) even had some variation of face tech derived from the flash face (ie they weren’t single pieced forged) - definitely not quite as hot as the flash cup, and more focused on consistency, but it shows that not all Tour players need a pure-blade with zero tech for consistency. That being said, the new CB's are definitely my favorite release since the 19' Pros. Great design, great feel (i assume, never tried), and easy swing-weighting (if Callaway allows you request a certain weight or buy them separately)
