Brother in law was looking to scoop this up from a local ad. Price seemed a little too good to be true, hoping one of you fine folks might be able to help verify

Putter looks good. If the price is too good to be true be careful. Marketplace scammers are a dime a dozen right now. The majority are brand new profiles and are offering to ship it. Do some homework on the guy and only pay G&S

I looks good to me too. Used scotty prices have come down quite a bit in the last year - the ones actually selling, anyway. Glad that it is local and you can meet.

In Toronto, Canada, the Scotty prices are still crazy…asking for $500+ for old avg conditions and $300+ for beat up conditions

Everything is stupid in this city, half the dudes think a Scotty is some super high end putter but they just ask for near retail or over on OTR ones. The flipping lifestyle that's going on here.

Why is that?

Are retail clubs hard to get in Canada ? Do exchange rates or tariffs (?) , taxes (?) restrict supply ?

No it's all easy to get Canada isn't some 3rd world overseas country.

An OTR Scotty right now is $630 CAD plus whatever tax depending where one lives which is $475 USD so a bit more with tax and duties.

It's just in the bigger cities for some reason you have a ton of people trying to flip things here for more money even if not an item to be flipped. You know how many Nike golf shoes are trying to be flipped for 2-3x more than retail when the same shoe is at an outlet store for 25-50% less than retail.

It's just stupidity that's all on the secondary market, dudes trying to "hustle".
