Secondhand GC2 Software Solution

I'm new to this section of WRX but I'm reaching out for advice. I recently purchased a used GC2, it was a great deal and given the lack of ball flight I have available at my house a camera based unit made a ton of sense. The seller told me it would be $500 to transfer his license of FSX2020 through Foresight but after contacting and working with a rep I was quoted $2500 on top of what I bought the unit for which is out of my budget. Can anyone help me with a software solution for this unit? I'm currently using the free FSX Performance fitting app which is no longer supported by Foresight and has a bunch of connection issues. My main goal is to have a live range for practice use more so than a full simulator set up.

Yeah, it's going to be tough to get true support from them given the discontinuation of the GC2 last year. The transfer fee seems high — I might push back with them on that. At this point, $500 is better than $0, which is what they're going to get from you otherwise.

I'm unaware of any third-party apps that will do this. You could look at Awesome Golf, perhaps, but I think that might just support the 3 and Quad(s).

We are on the same wavelength here. The seller has a copy of FSX they essentially can no longer use and I now have a unit that (whether they support it or not for service purposes) works but cannot connect to any of the updated apps. I'm not sure why selling me a new copy of FSX makes sense beyond profit.

I know someone who bought a Quad and just… logs in with the existing account, as if it was never transferred or sold. Could you do that?

(His transfer fee was quoted at $1k, and that included a bunch of courses, and so on.)

I've reached out to the seller (purchased on BST) haven't heard back yet. I did mention this as an option.
