grip size for smaller hands

long story short. ordered some clubs with a mid size grips. But I have smaller hands. (about a little over 7in from butt of palm to tip of middle finger) Sometimes it does feel like I don't have the best grip on my club.

Wondering you guys thoughts on grip sizes in relation to hand size etc..

You don't want your finger tips digging into your palm on the lead hand. That's all I ever heard.

Other than that, get a grip that feels good.

I wear a Cadet small glove, and like .58" grips on a .60" shaft, 2 layers of blue painters tape, grip blown on.

Personal preference, no standard method to define what grip size, trial and error.

Jack has small hands, but always played with larger grips.

Chances are you probably don’t have the right size. With the right size you’ll never think about it.

A 7" hand is very average, so STD size grips are in order. NOT mid size.

A couple years ago I went into a golf store that sold used clubs and found a 7 iron with a weight and grip that felt right.

Then I bought used clubs and tried out every grip before replacing them.

yeah I guess they arent tiny just not large haha. Mid size felt ok when I used a very strong grip but since making a switch to a more neutral grip it feels big. I may go have them regripped. Any thoughts on the best place? Just a PGA superstore or something?

I wear a cadet small in my glove. I play a CP2 in midsize. Just feels better to me.

You might try doing the online Ping fit (where you give measurements of wrist crease to tip of longest finger, and the measurement of your longest finger) to see what Ping grip color code is recommended for you. Of course if it recommends a thinner grip and you like the feeling of something thicker, then go for it.

The MCC Plus 4 is nice because it is 60 for your left hand and slightly thicker for the right.

7” wrist to finger tip too. M glove fits perfectly snug. Never considered midsize grips until my wedge set showed up with them. Figured I’d just replace when I got them. Turns out I liked them so much I ended up replacing the rest of my clubs with midsize a couple of seasons ago - playing my best, most comfortable golf these days.

But…. If your asking here online - they’re not right for you (throw a standard grip on your 7i and see if you like it better)

Another 7" wrist to finger tip guy. I've used standard grips for a while inclding Ping and Tour Velvet. Got a set of G425's that came with Winn Dri-Tac LT (Less Taper) Standard Grips. Highly recommend them!

7" Hands - by the book - are generally standard size grips. Though, the "Correct™" size is the one you can grip comfortably with appropriate pressure without losing control of the club.

Too big = Loss of control through some loss of feel

Too small = Loss of control due to movement

Now that analogy is how I feel about it. Some folks will play too big because it gives them a sensation they desire. Perhaps they want it to feel like they've got some heft in their hands. Though, that can also mean some axial movement through loss of grip pressure.

You want your clubs to remain firm in your grip whilst retaining flexibility and control.
