Wedge flex question

For those that play extra stiff irons, do you also have extra stiff shafts in your gap, sand and lob wedges or do you have wedge flex?

Lots of good players use the same X-stiff shaft in their wedges, that they use in their irons.  Others like a softer flex in their wedges.

 

It's really hard to go wrong in wedges, by using the same shaft that fits you well in your irons.

 

For anything else, do some testing with an open mind and see if it gives you any advantage

Agree with the above. Also consider how you use your wedges. I go 46, 52, 58 and use the 52 as more of a gap wedge. I've recently been 'enlightened' by Howard's spinner wedge model which works really well for a gap wedge that you still hit close to full swings with. Using the same as your set irons is another good option too. I then go softer with my 58 since its generally no more than half swings.

I play dg x100s in my irons and dg mid 115 x100 in my 50/54/58. I like being able to go at one like I would any iron. I like the slightly lighter shaft in the wedges though for around the greens chipping gives me a nicer feel

I just went from KBS Max 85 S flex steel to MMT 70 R graphite in my irons.  I'm ordering Maltby Max Milled 54 and 58 with the Kuro Kage G2 R flex.  I was lent a Max Milled with a R flex graphite and it felt so nice in the short game I'm going to convert to the softer flex.
