Ping g430 Swingweight/ Hotmelt Options

Recently got fit for a g430 5 wood. Absolutely love it, but playing a little short and needed to bring spin down a little so we added lead tape near the face but it’s getting ripped off on tee shots. 
 

can hot melt be added?

Don't put the tape so close to the face.   The location really doesn't make any difference, you're not adding enough to move the c.g. so it's really all about the change in swing weight that's helping you.   Find a smooth spot that wont contact the ground, make sure it's clean, and use something like the butt of a screw driver to press the tape on - especially the edges and corners of the tape.   Then you wont have to worry about it coming off.

Interesting. We added about 6g and saw a consistent 200-250 rpm reduction vs increasing the back weight. 
You are probably right that it’s not doing a lot and the 200 rpm is probably not moving the needle much on the course but I did hear the ping guys on the proving grounds podcast mention most of the tour guys are hot melting their 7 woods so assume it can be done.

That's not what I meant.   I'll leave it to you to determine how significant it might be - I wasn't making any judgment on that.  I'm saying the source of the change is not coming from any shift of the c.g. from adding weight low on the head.  So it's not really dependent on where exactly on the head the lead tape is placed.  It's much more likely a result of the change in swing weight.

it's a safe assumption.  I just don't know the specifics of how and where on the head the access point might be - so couldn't be much help with that aspect of the question.   If there are no weight ports, the bottom of the hosel is a common location through which hot melt can be added.  But I can't say for sure if that's the case with that head.
