Grip and setup with Mezz Max

Grabbed a Mezz Max CB off of here a couple weeks ago. It's 38/72 which is what I was fit for at Club Champion. I understand there's generally a learning period when changing putters, but my miss is very consistent. I like the feel, the stability, the look etc, but I miss left. It's always left. Especially inside 4-5 feet. I'm missing all my money makers😂 Any LAB owners out there have this issue when you first got it? I've seen some say that they take their thumbs off the putter? Anyways, did any of you guys have to adjust grip, stance, ball position etc? It has the SuperStroke CB grip on it, for reference.

I currently have Mezz Max and DF3 - both CB. I also have your same miss (pull). First, make sure it’s not your aim or your green reading. Then lighten your grip to the point you feel the putter is going to fall out of your hands and try to somehow neutralize your hands. What was my problem is I was ever so slightly yanking the putter at the end of the backstroke/beginning of the forward stroke. Try either placing a penny on the putter and putt the ball without disturbing the penny or as a drill, actually pause the putter head before beginning the forward stroke. Do all this with a super light grip. Good luck.

Good advice here.  I play the Mezz Max in 34" and 69* lie angle.  TPT shaft and 2* pistol.  It took me a few rounds to dial it in but as soon as I gripped it nice and light and allowed the putter to swing it has turned into a score saving weapon.

I picked up at 39/72 (specs I wanted)  off of their preowned awhile back, and have the same exact experience, I actually felt like the putter was closing on me, which didn't make sense. But there were times that I didn't get that sensation.

I put it on the bench a few weeks ago, I was getting very frustrated.  I have messed around with everything you mentioned, and the thumbs off does seem to help at times.   One thing I struggle with a bit is that it is very heavy, although "standard" weight.   The past several days I pulled it out again, and tried choking up a bit more, and it did seem to help.  One, this makes it play more upright, and two, it doesn't feel as heavy.   I know LAB says you should play their putters more forward in your stance, but to me this makes it go even harder left, it might be a set up issue as that might open up my shoulders playing it forward, so I gave up on that.

I do feel there is a sweetspot some where with this putter; if I can figure out the stance, grip, and ball position, it will be the "automatic" 5-6 footer maker I wanted, and get the longer putts started right on on line too.

This is how it feels with me. I play it off my front foot and I feel like that's not helping with the pulls. I can feel the face close. I'll definitely try all of these tips👍🏻

Wouldn’t farther up in your stance promote a left miss? Play it farther back (closer to the middle )
